J.A. Rock is an American author that writes LGBT romance novels. The author also frequently contributes articles to publications like the Huffington Post where she talks about LGBT-related matters.

+The Story

J.A. Rock learned to read fairly early on, and that drew her to writing down the line. An avid fan of romance, Rock knew she had something unique to contribute to the publishing arena, even as a child.

She didn’t know for certain that she would pursue a field as niche in publishing as LGBT romance. But she knew she had a unique set of stories she wanted to tell and that there were readers out there anxiously waiting for her to fill that particular gap in the publishing arena.

Though, Rock will tell you that, for all the passion she had for writing, she never knew for certain that her future lay in publishing. As a teen, J.A. Rock’s passion for writing was only rivaled by her love for the theater.

In fact, she went so far as to study Theater in College. There was a time when Rock was certain that she would become an actress in the future. In fact, that certainty was as strong as her determination to write.
It wasn’t until she got to college that it occurred to her that she would have to choose between the two. For reasons she cannot explain, J.A. Rock did not believe that it was possible to pursue both careers.

She needed to pick a lane that she could dedicate her mind, soul, and body to if she wanted to succeed. Ultimately, the author chose writing. It was a life-changing decision but the author never regretted it.

Additionally, as she matured, Rock realized that she did not have to sacrifice one for the sake of the other. As a result, Rock is a frequent dabbler in the theater. Her writing always takes a priority. But when she has free time on her hands, do not be surprised to find her on a stage somewhere.

J.A. Rock specializes in romance. Her goal in most of her novels is to create protagonists that, while steamy and alluring, are also flawed. She enjoys playing with mental disorders whenever the opportunity allows.

More often than not, Rock’s characters start out hating each other. It takes a lot of exploration for them to realize that their hate might be camouflage for something else. Over time, they come to the realization that their quirky personalities and attitudes are perfectly suited for one another.

That inevitably leads to several pages of kinky sex. Rock isn’t satisfied until she has thrown as many props and costumes into the mix. Even as she drags her readers through a roller coaster of a journey during which her heroes contend with self-doubt and battle psychological scars, Rock never misses an opportunity to drown them in experimental sexual experiences.

The author’s books can get dark and disturbing. Some of her characters suffer tremendously. But at the end of the day, the affection they are able to generate and receive from their significant other leaves them in a better place.

J.A. Rock loves the romance genre because it is such a diverse place. She believes that there are enough sub-genres within romance to satiate even the most unique tastes and desires of any given reader.

However, the author has accused the field of stagnating when it comes to finales. According to Rock, the idea of guaranteed happy endings in romance needs to change. She doesn’t think that it is essential for the protagonists of a romance novel to end up together at the end of a story.

She believes that it is perfectly appropriate for a book to end with two protagonists going their separate ways. Rock has suggested that romance is sending out a bad message by suggesting that love cannot be real if it fails to end in a permanent, monogamous relationship.

The author has assured her fans that she holds no ill will towards romance that ends the traditional way. Rock has nothing against happy endings. Rather, her contention is that it might be time to change the definition of happy endings.

Sometimes, the hero and the heroine can only achieve happiness when they go their separate ways.

J.A. Rock is active on social media. She enjoys engaging with her readers on most issues. The author’s novels feature a lot of BDSM. She has admitted that she writes the books she writes because it allows her to share a lifestyle that she immensely enjoys with the world.

Industry professionals will tell you that the author’s books are not for everyone. Many of them delve so deeply into BDSM, exploring the grossest aspects of the practice that some readers are likely to be disturbed and put off.

Practitioners of BDSM, on the other hand, will appreciate the effort Rock injects into representing their lifestyle in vivid colors.

+The Subs Club

Hal was a sub. He was in the midst of a BDSM situation when he met his end. His dom, the man that killed him, was initially arrested for his murder but eventually released because of a lack of evidence.

Hal’s friends couldn’t let his death go. They believe the dom’s negligence and recklessness got him killed. So they started the Subs Club, an organization that investigates doms and exposes the bad ones, the doms that could kill a sub in the future if they are not kept in check.

Dave is a member of the Subs Club. It has been a year since Hal died and Dave has been doing his best to carry out the will of the Subs Club. His work brings him into contact with the Disciplinarian.

The Disciplinarian is everything Dave should hate, a Dom that seems to revel in the pain he deals out. But as Dave digs into the Disciplinarian, he is shocked to discover just how alluring the dom is.

+Pain Slut

Miles joined the Subs Club with the rest of his friend to honor Hal, a sub who died under the care of a dom. A year ago, he was serious about making the world safer for subs.

But things have changed. Miles is older. He is ready to get his life back on track. That means putting his kinky lifestyle to bed and adopting a child. Miles’ intentions are threatened when he encounters a dangerous dom.
