J.J. DiBenedetto is a paranormal, suspense, and romance author born in New York. He studied at Reserve University, where his classmates saw him as a nerd, and since then, nothing much has changed.
When not writing, He does marketing, takes photos, and enjoys opera. He’s famous for his Dream Doctor Mysteries, among other works.

Dream Student
The story is about a girl student in her school’s medical faculty. Sarah has dreams, but she is sure that they aren’t hers. One day she finds out that she has a unique ability to see other people’s dreams.
When she’s in the middle of her dream, she gets pulled to other people’s dreams, going to places she never saw and meeting people she has never met before.

Everyone has always heard that dreams have meaning, and for Sarah, her dreams are of potential events that are yet to occur and are dangerous and haunting. For her day-to-day activities as a busy medical student, the terrifying nightmares she faces interrupt her studies, but she still finds strength in some of her friends.

She even finds out that the events she dreams about actually happen. Some dreams are terrible nightmares as she has to endure people’s dark fantasies.

She wonders what she’s going to do with these people’s dreams since she’s forced to watch their secret fantasies and unveil their darkest secrets without them realizing. Earlier, she worried about shopping, passing the final exams, and finding out whether she liked a handsome freshman living in the next dorm.

She meets a guy in her dreams and falls in love with him at first sight. The guy can cure her nightmares and stop her from screaming, and his being near her makes everything cheery.

Sarah didn’t have a boyfriend in a long time and wonders whether instant love is real. Her best friend Beth rarely tells her how bad the idea is, and her friends wonder what’s going on. She sees Brian as creepy when he sees him staring at her during a party and dreaming about her while wearing cheerleading attire.

Beth acts like someone fed up with dealing with her roommate’s crap. They all try to get all cuddly and supportive and then don’t try to warn her off. Unlike Sarah, Beth is famous and convinces her to have and get herself loose.

Some of Sarah’s dreams don’t make sense to her, and whenever she has a dream about a particular person, she assumes that she has seen them before and her brain is bringing them back in the form of a dream.

She learns more than she ever anticipated about her classmates and friends through other people’s dreams. Strangely, she dreams of a terrifying man whose dreams have a possibility of making Sarah get killed.

When she starts dreaming about the man murdering her, she knows it’s time for her to take action. But she doesn’t know who will trust or believe it. The murderer’s bloody trails are always recorded in her brain through the nightmares she undergoes. Might there be a way of predicting the next victim or a way to prevent the deaths?

While feeling frustrated and terrified, can she make the hit list, or will her close friends become a victim? The clock is still ticking, and her sanity and the lives of the young ladies make Sarah feel sleep-deprived, empty, under pressure, and unsure how to stop the monster.

Dream Student is a dark thriller with some dark and suspense moments. Sarah’s dreams affected her everyday life and all emphasis focused on her relationship with her boyfriend.

Fans of fantasy stories with dark scenes, this’s a perfect read for you. The novel is fast-paced, sucking the reader right in from the beginning. DiBenedetto sometimes offers a slow but steady pace as he feeds his readers with enough bits to keep craving for more.

Dream Doctor
Dream Doctor is the second novel in the Dreams Series. DiBenedetto goes on with Sarah’s story as a young woman who knows that her dreams may come true. After the terrible events of the Dream student novel, Sarah is prepared to move on and experience better and bigger things in life.

Sarah never expected to wake up dreaming about murdering someone. At first, she thought she was done with the nightmare dreams, but things took a different turn. She married Brian and began a new life together, hoping for the best as a newlywed. She didn’t have anyone’s dreams besides hers when she helped capture Dr. Walters.

Sarah isn’t with it yet, and just when she thought starting medical school and life as a newlywed were hard enough, she starts getting into dreams of the people around her once more. Brian and her friend Beth know Sarah’s dream situation and are there for her.

The dreams might destroy her hopes of being a doctor, affect her marriage, worsen it all, and end her life. When Sarah starts having dreams about an ordinary doctor named Mr. Morris, she knows something terrible might happen to him.

She decides to observe him during the class and people close to him. She tries to figure out who’s trying to kill him. Can Brian and Sarah figure out and save everyone before it’s too late?

When Sarah realizes that one of her instructors is in danger, she has to get proof and prevent them from being a victim. That’s one of her worries, and when her good friends need her help. Be prepared to follow her journey from dissecting the table to the hospital as she courageously follows the path her dreams give her.

The characters are lovely, and the dialogue is off the charts showing the raw life of a med student and the people close to and around her.

The author weaves envy, deceit, a quest for power, and a dream to give an intriguing story. Sarah’s relationship with her family is still enjoyable as it’s told in good and authentic humor. She’s still the pillar of strength to her neighbors.

The author used convincing medical information, great characters, and enjoyable humor to offer his readers a good and different kind of mystery. Sarah solves her mysteries in an authentic student style with lots of emotions.
