Jacie Middlemann is an American fantasy and historical fiction author. Like many authors, he got interested in reading and writing from a very young age. As a fourth-grader, he fell in love with books, and during his free time, he would volunteer at the school library. This gave him the chance to read out all the “Nancy Drew” books he could lay her hands on. He also discovered a ton of fairy tales and myths from across the world from the likes of CS Lewis and Louisa May Alcott. By the end of it all, she was convinced that writing fiction was what she wanted to do. By the end of her summer of volunteering, the librarian thanked her with several book cards, card pockets, due date slips and asked her to read the books she had borrowed for as long as she wanted. However, her mother thought she was spending too much time reading and wanted her to engage in some other activities and hence she gave her a camera so that she could try photography. Her father was the most supportive of her desire to become an author as he lent her his typewriter and told her she could use it anytime he did not need it. Using that typewriter, she filled her notebooks with notes and stories she scribbled whenever she had the time or when she was supposed to be sleeping. Her mother also came around and saved many of the notebooks she scribbled her stories on which she still has to this day.

Jacie published her first novel “The Civil War Connection” in 2013 and the novel would spawn the “They Will Know You” series of novels. Since then she has published more than eighty titles in more than fourteen series and novels. Several years ago, her father gave her the typewriter they had shared all those summers past. Every time she looks at the machine, she remembers the naïve fourth grader that was encouraged to go for her dreams. She also remembers the box full of typewritten and handwritten stories on notebooks that would make her what she is today. Just like she did when she was a child, she still loves a good book, and when she is not writing she may be found staying up late with a good fantasy or historical fiction book.

Jacie Middlemann’s debut novel “The Civil War Connection” is the story of four siblings – sisters and brothers that were born to the Clarmores. They had been born to destinies that had for a long time been foretold. However, they cannot fulfill their destinies unless they first learn from the people that came before them. Their Clarmore forebear who is thousands of years old guides them as they go on a quest through time in the search for wisdom and knowledge. The fate of the millennia-old Clarmore is intrinsically tied to that of the contemporary Clarmore children. He had been patiently waiting for thousands of years for the children to be born as they have the will and wherewithal to bring about the changes he had set in motion millennia ago. In the novel, the contemporary Clarmores meet Preston and Linden Clarmore, who both survived some devastating wars during their lifetimes. They learn a lot of things from the hot air balloons that were used to spy on Confederate forces during the Civil War to the twentieth-century inventions. All these finally make them believe that things are not always so black and white.

“The Seneca Falls Connection” by Jacie Middlemann is the story of Amalie Clarmore, who has always lived in awe of Hannah Clarmore her ancestor. She had played a critical role in changing the history of her family all of which started at a small brick building in Seneca Falls in 1849. But she only comes to truly appreciate Hannah’s courage when she meets her ancestor, and comes to a better understanding of the times that she lived in. She also understands that there is a lot to learn from the lives of all her ancestors. When they return to Nantucket Island during the latter part of the 19th century, they are surprised when Addie their cousin unexpectedly comes to visit. Adele Clarmore had always dreamed about her siblings and family being the ones that would be the fulfillment of the Clarmore legend. But as she became an adult, she acknowledged that maybe she would not be part of the fulfillment of the legend and hence plans to be included in some way by future Clarmores that would fulfill it. She now has something very important that would help Gavril fulfill her destiny and she intends to use it to bargain for what she needed. Gavril acknowledges how much Adele would bring to the table while Addie fully understands the importance of the decree of fate that had to be fulfilled by her cousins as foretold several centuries earlier. Gavril Clarmore has been living in the shadows for years waiting for those fated to make a prophecy come true and finally change the destiny of mankind.

“The Wilberforce Connection,” which is the third novel of the “They Will Know You” series is the story of Gavril Clarmore whose destiny is to guide the four Clarmore siblings, Jamie, Harry, Amalie, and Rory. They had been born several millennia after Gavril and now that she has found them, he needs to get to work helping them learn and harness their fast-growing powers even as he has to deal with her mysterious and new powers. Rory can speak languages she never learned and Amelie has suddenly developed heightened senses. Young Jamie has been communicating with relatives that have been dead for centuries while Harry can listen to dreams and read thoughts even as he seeks wisdom from his 17th-century ancestor named William Wilberforce. The novel is a tale of the connection of the Clarmores to earlier generations of people with the same name. It is a story of legend that tells of the resolve, strength, unwavering loyalty, courage, perseverance, faith, and acceptance. By staying true to who he is, Gavril teaches the Clarmore siblings that belief in themselves is their greatest strength.
