Born on 6 September 1968, Chris Brookmyre is a Scottish author whose blend of politics, comedy, actions and social comments have in turn led him to be referred to as the pattern noir author. Despite the fact that Christ Brookmyre was born in Glasgow, he was raised in the town of Barrhead. In this book, we meet once again to Jack Parlabane, a man who is about to be married and is living in domestic bliss. Once he is married, Jack Parlabane promises to leave the exceedingly dangerous life of an investigative journalist. However, it does not take long before Jack breaks up his promise when a blogger is found dead. After the killing, the police ruled that this was a burglary case and place three people behind bars whom they believe were involved in the burglary. A few days before the killing took place, Mclannes paid one Nicole Carrow, who is a professional lawyer a visit.

After Thomas’s arrest, he turns up at the police station. Within several hours after visiting the police and presenting a letter, where she had indicated that she could prove the innocence of her client, someone makes an attempt on her life. The new series follows the life of one Jasmine Sharp who works as a private detective and one Catherine Mcleod who works as a police investigator. In the year 2013, Chris Brookmyre released the novel, Bedlam.
