About Jack Slater
The American author Jack Slater is extremely well known for his unique brand of exciting high-octane action thriller. With his fast paced style and creative approach to storytelling, he really has a way with words that is quite unlike anything else. Pushing the boundaries of the format at every turn, he definitely knows and understands how to keep the reader reading every step of the way. Allowing his writing to ostensibly speak for itself, he really takes it to the next level too, giving his stories a real sense of vitality in the process.

His stories are firmly based in reality, making them wholly authentic and believable, grounded for the reader to immerse themselves within. This approach to his art-form has allowed him to find his own distinct style that is all very much his own, and his alone. Many of the settings are true to life, as they feel real and genuine, setting his stories apart from other novels in their genre. Immersing his readers in his world, Slater makes sure his audience loses themselves in his writing, becoming a part of the action themselves.

It is also his characters that really stand out, as they essentially come alive on the page, speaking to the reader almost. Many of his leading protagonists are well-drawn with fully three-dimensional personalities that give them living breathing profiles. This style of his has ensured that he’s a writer who resonates with his audience on a personal level, relating to readers from all over the world. With so much more to come still, he definitely isn’t stopping writing time soon either, as his writing career continues to grow onwards and upwards.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up with a strong passion for storytelling, Jack Slater was always invested in his craft, pursuing it from a young age. This interest of his would continue to develop throughout much of his life, enabling him to find his own voice as time went on. Inspired by his contemporaries, he would follow in the footsteps of famous action-thriller writers such as Tom Clancy, Flynn, and Ludlum.

Prior to becoming a full-time writer Slater would work in publishing for some time, finding his own approach to the genre. Over time he would create a style all of his own, focusing on realistic action involving the military, as he would reach readers far and wide. Currently still writing to this very day, he isn’t stopping any time it seems, with lots more stories planned for release on the horizon.

Writing Career

One of the main series that Jack Slater is largely known for is that of his much loved ‘Jason Trapp’ series of books. Following the operative Jason Trapp, he works for the US government intelligence services behind the scenes keeping the country from danger. Doing whatever he can, he neutralizes any found worldwide threat, maintaining stability and order for the greater good.

While Slater would initially focus upon his Trapp series of books, another series he would also go on to write was his ‘Will Roper’ collection of novels. Over time he would amass a large following of readers from around the world, making a name for himself, as he’d become a household name for many. Maintaining a presence online as well, his writing career would continues to grow with his thrilling take on the action genre.

Flash Point

First coming out back in 2019 on the 30th of November, this would be the third in the ‘Jason Trapp’ series of action-thriller novels. Continuing on from the previous two, it provides another stand-along adventure for the ever intrepid agent to solve. There are elements brought over from the previous books as well, with some continuing character arcs, while making way for more to follow.

As a jet is taken down in the skies above Belarus, it’s destroyed by a Russian missile system, setting off global tensions. Newly appointed US intelligence director George Lawrence knows it’s most definitely not an accident, as an advisor to the Russian government has also been taken down. Meanwhile in Tuscany Jason Trapp is looking to recover with Eliza Ikeda, but everything catches up to them both, as trouble arrives on their doorstep. Will they be able to deal with this new challenge before them, can Jason Trapp neutralize the threat, and what will become of them as they face their flash point?

It definitely makes for addictive reading with this easy to follow page-turner that keeps its audience constantly hooked. There’s plenty of action making it a more than compelling read with a lot to offer readers, allowing them to really lose themselves in the action. Fast paced throughout, it keeps the tension going, making sure its audience is glued to the page every step of the way for the duration.

Hand of God

Originally arriving in 2022 on the 16th of July, this book would be the eighth book in the ongoing ‘Jason Trapp’ series of books. Another high-stakes action-thriller, it provides a further thrilling adventure for intelligence agent Jason Trapp to succeed in. Paving the way for more to come, there’s lots of action, but they don’t necessarily need to be read in order, although it does offer plenty for returning readers to enjoy.

There’s a new threat looming on the horizon, as another Cold War is brewing deep in the East, with violence bubbling to the surface. Now US intelligence operative and assassin Jason Trapp must deal with the feared terrorist Khaled al-Shakiri, but then there’s one of the most violent prison breaks. Now Trapp must fight against shadows, as the world lurches on the brink of a new world war, the like of which it’s never before seen. Will Trapp manage to undertake the task at hand, can he prevent the world from falling into chaos, and what will become of everyone as they face the hand of god?

As a protagonist Jason Trapp is extremely well-written, keeping ahead of his enemies, and rising to whatever challenge is before him. Long-term fans of the series will be well aware of who he is at this point, but there are plenty of surprises still left up Slater’s sleeve. With twists and turns on every page, he’s a writer who really knows how to keep the pace going, allowing the reader to really invest themselves in the action.
