About Jack Thompson

Writing science-fiction and mystery thriller novels, the American author Jack Thompson is well known for his exciting and fast-paced novels. Instantly grabbing the reader and not letting go he definitely knows how to engage his audience on a most visceral and immediate level. This is something that he’s been doing for quite some time now, with his stories and characters really making an impact on the action thriller market. His ability to keep the reader guessing as well is also something that really needs to be admired, as his stories are intricately woven throughout. Giving the story everything, he definitely doesn’t hold anything back, allowing the action to leap right off the page almost.

Not just confined to just a few genres though, he has also written various children’s novels as well, along paranormal romance too. This has led to him becoming one of the most versatile voices currently working within the industry today, with a number of titles currently under his belt. Always with something to say too, he has a strong style that conveys a certain set of themes and ideas too, which will continue for many years to come.

Early and Personal Life

Born in America Jack Thompson would grow up with a keen passion for both reading and writing, something which he would continue throughout his life. Wanting to communicate with the reader in a more direct style, he aimed to clarify his voice and articulate his vision in a far more refined manner. This would be something that he would continue to work on throughout the years to follow, establishing himself as a storyteller with something to say. Attending school whilst constantly learning his craft, he would come to establish the style that he is currently known for to this day. Still writing and putting out work on a regular and consistent basis, he continues to write from his home in Florida in the United States.

Writing Career

Starting out in 2010, Jack Thompson would come to make a name for himself largely as a writer of thriller novels. Producing series such as ‘Raja Williams’ he would quickly become one of the most prominent writers working within his particular field. Becoming a bestselling author, he would quickly find his niche as a prolific writer with something to say, as well as entertain. Looking to create characters that would relate to his readers on a personal level, he aims to both teach and entertain in equal measure. His success can be seen reflected in not only his sales, but his reception with the general public too, as there’s a lot more planned yet.

Swimming Upstream

Originally brought out in 2010 on the 20th of November, this would initially come out through the ‘Crackerjack Publishing’ label. Marking the third entry in the ‘Raja Williams’ series of novels, it would provide another stand-alone mystery for the private investigator to solve. It would also work at paving the way for future titles to come as well, whilst building upon the series that came before at the same time.

A wealthy Oxford educated private investigator, the Raja Williams series follows him as he manages to solve a number of different cases. As a character of mixed Caribbean he’s a character with a rich and vibrant history, having a strong empathetic power of being able to deduce who is guilty. This gives him an insight into evil doing and how people interact with one another, as he ensures that justice is always done. It is his partnership with the hacker Vinny Moore which also drives the novels along, as the two of them work together to solve various different mysteries.

Declaring it to be a tragic accident, the police discover a young lawyer dead on Mount Rainer, having worked the main environmental law firm in Seattle. This is when Raja Williams, the private investigator, is turned to for help by the distressed and distraught mother of the deceased man. Accompanied by none other than his hacker sidekick Vinny Moore, the two of them aim to find the culprit and bring them to justice. With their journey taking them to the Arctic Canadian wilds, they come upon an attempt to cover up a scorched Earth plot, with powerful entities battling it out over environmental resources. Who will prevail in this showdown? Can they discover the truth behind the many lies? Will they find themselves swimming upstream?

The Rand Principle

First released in 2011 on the 26th of July, this would be a fully stand-alone action thriller novel, not being a part of any series as such. In it Jack Thompson does what he does best, and delivers on the action and suspense, in a nail-biting thriller that keeps the reader constantly hooked. With an intriguing premise that compliments its leading protagonist well, it is a definite must for both fans of the genre and of the author.

A high-octane action thriller, this really doesn’t hold back when it comes to building a sense of tension and excitement for the reader. Knowing exactly what’s needed, Thompson manages to keep his audience on the edges of their seats for the duration of this novel. Working as a stand-alone it builds itself around an entirely self-contained narrative that’s easy and fun to read, being truly entertaining throughout. Taking place across a variety of different locations too, it sets about creating an international pace to the action as well.

Targeted for elimination by his own government, Leeland Ranch has to do whatever it takes to remain one step ahead and keep himself alive. Wondering whether he himself is a deadly killer, or just a pawn in somebody else’s game, he is up against the elements in a race against the clock. That’s when he’s warned by a mysterious stranger to either run or die, and it is now up to him to find out who it is that is targeting him. With the U.S. Marshal Service’s best tracker on the case it appears that he’s got his work cut out for him though, in this deadly game of survival. Will he be able to find out who is after him in time? Can he stop them before it’s too late? What’s the real truth behind the Rand principle?
