Jackie Ivie is an American writer from Salt Lake City in Utah. The second child among five siblings, she was always the life of the party, entertaining her sisters and brother with invented stories escapades and games. She is mostly known for the Vampire Assassin League, and Knights series of novels. She mainly writes in either the paranormal or contemporary romance genres.

From a young age, Jackie Ivie treasured books and would consume literature on almost any subject. She would even walk their family dog with one hand holding a leash, while the other was thumbing a book. However, all was to change when she discovered historical romances. One read and she was hooked, she just could not get enough of the genre. Always the busy type, Jackie is always occupied in doing something. Growing up, it was not unusual to find her listening to music, crocheting, watching television, reading, and doing her homework at the same time.

After she graduated from college, she got a job with a service company and had to move to Wyoming together with her young family. Wyoming proved good for her as she spent her time enjoying the open spaces, scenery, and wildlife, which she claims, reenergized the artist in her. An accomplished artist in different media, Ivie does not only write novels and asserts that she prefers mixed media. Her first venture in the arts was pictures, and she published several that were accepted into a variety of exhibitions in the West. But being an avid reader, it was only a matter of time before she ventured into writing. Once she had penned her first novel, there was no stopping her.

In 2001, job commitments saw her move to the nation’s largest state – Alaska. With its breathtaking vistas and amazing contrasts, Alaska made Jackie Ivie the prolific writer that contemporary romance enthusiasts know and love. The long summer days meant that she spent hours performing energizing tasks and the winter nights on her keyboard pounding out her romantic novels. While at first she would just write for the love for it, she has asserted that seeing her novels in print gives her even more motivation to continue writing.

Jackie writes paranormal and contemporary romances that include a range of interesting characters such as the popular mysterious and charming vampire, or prince who falls for someone they cannot have. The Vampire Assassin series of novels is about an association of killers assembled over the centuries with the stated aim of killing of profit. Gorgeous and deadly at the same time, the vampires true desire is to find their soul mate without whom they will remain eternal virgins chase and alone. As expected, when a vampire does meet their mate, the romance is hot and sizzling. Her historical romances sweep from the wild Scottish highlands to 19th century London. Jackie skillfully weaves narratives of charming and handsome lairds, knights, and beautiful ladies trapped in loveless marriages. Ivie crafts seductive tales of men full of daring, ruthless and hardened by dangers who ultimately fall into the trap of desire. Faced with headstrong, beautiful, and passionate women, they cannot but lose their hardness and give in to their desires. Struggling to resist what their societies have taught them to abhor, our protagonists throw all caution to the wind in pursuit of a chance of happiness and love.

A Knight Well spent is one of Jackie Ivie’s most popular books. Set in 12th century Scotland, it is the narrative of a knight who finds himself with a very difficult job of subduing the Scottish Highland clans determined not to be ruled by the Norman invaders. His job gets even more complicated when a highland woman takes his heart hostage.

They could not be any more different. While he is the enemy, a giant of a man who fights to kill, she lives to heal. While logic says she should stay as far away as possible from the wounded Norman knight, she just must help him. But the reward that he gives her for saving his life changes everything forever. The Norman king has bestowed the Scottish fiefdom upon his favorite knight Rhoenne Guy de Ramhurst. However, to enjoy this gift the knight has the task of keeping the rebellious Highlanders under control. He also faces a rebel castle manned by none other than his brother who wants him dead. Yet after meeting the beautiful Scottish healer Aislynn who had saved his life, all his challenges seem not to matter as much as his need to make her his.

The knight believes that he has been cursed to have any woman he loves die. As such, despite his very strong desire for Aislynn, he does not want anything to happen to her. When his half-brother abducts Aislynn, the Norman overlord becomes her protector though he tries as best as he can to resist her charms. Aislynn too is fighting her own demons and as danger and deception threaten to destroy their lives, only the truth will save them.

Linna is another popular historical, contemporary romance by Jackie Ivie. Set in the Western Caribbean in the 19th century, Linna is the narrative of a man hardened by life who gets a chance at love in the most unexpected of ways. As a fresh faced 16 year old, Cord is sent to work in the British Navy. Years of hardship and a strong will to survive have made him strong and most important of all brutal. With revenge, his biggest desire in life, when he is approached to rebel and become a pirate, the choice is an easy one. While the British government now has put a bounty on his head, he is now free to do as he wishes, and even has the means to seek the revenge he craves.

Offered a handsome pay for seducing and ruining an innocent girl, he jumps at the chance. Linna Daniels represents the very people he is seeking revenge against. She is beautiful, spoiled, rich, and desired by nearly all eligible bachelors. Her cold rejections simply serve to sharpen Cord’s desire and determination. However, everything changes when her father throws her out after she becomes embroiled in a scandal she knew nothing about. With no one to turn to, she needs a husband, anyone that can get her out of her miserable fate. Known as cold and heartless, is Cord taking on too much by agreeing to save her from her father. Can she maintain her cold hearted nature in the face of such a charming masculine man or will she melt in passion.
