Jackie Kabler is an English author who writes mysteries and thrillers. She is the creator and author of the Cora Baxter Mysteries series which follows an investigative journalist and news correspondent named Cora Baxter as she uses her skills to solve crimes. That series begins with The Dead Dog Day which was released in 2015.

Kabler was a newspaper reporter and television news correspondent in her own career. She spent nearly a decade working on GMTV and has also appeared on BBC and ITV News. In addition to that, she has also presented a property show for Sky, hosted sports shows on Setanta Sports News and worked as a media trainer for the Armed Forces. When she is not writing, she now spends her time working as a presenter on the shopping channel QVC. She currently lives in Gloucestershire with her husband.

The Dead Dog Day is the first book in the Cora Baxter Mysteries series. The book starts with news correspondent Cora Baxter having the weekend from hell as she is dumped by her boyfriend over the phone. She heads to work on Monday and finds that her boss Jeanette is on the rampage. Cora fears that her week is going to go much like her weekend. However, as the show ends and the post-show debrief begins – Jeanette is nowhere to be found. This is very unlike her and it is soon revealed that Jeanette is on the pavement outside of the studios, dead. The whole staff is a suspect as the list of people who despised Jeanette is long. Cora will use her skills as an investigative journalist to figure out who is responsible.

The second book in the series is called The Deadline and sees Cora called to the scene of a murder and finding that the victim is someone that she knows and that the alleged murderer is one of her close friends. Cora finds herself convinced of her friend’s innocence and fighting to prove it.

Kabler is also the author of the psychological crime thriller, The Perfect Couple. The story focuses on the relationship of Gemma and Danny. They met one year ago and ever since that day, their relationship has been perfect. Or is it? One day, Danny doesn’t return home which sends Gemma to the police. It turns out that there is a serial killer on the loose in the town of Bristol and they have a very unique person they are targeting: men who look just like Danny. Gemma is shocked to find this out, but the police hold their suspicions about her. No one outside of her had heard from Danny in weeks prior to his going missing and there is barely a trace of him in their home. The police will need to figure out if she is telling the truth or harboring a dark secret. This book will keep you guessing until the final pages.

Jackie followed that book up with Am I Guilty?, another psychological crime thriller. The book focuses on Thea who has just lost everything – her husband, her home, her children, and her career. Everyone is blaming her, saying that is is her fault and that she is the worst mother in the world. Thea doesn’t know what to believe though as she can’t remember what happened that day. Her friends and family are all telling her that she did something wrong, but she is struggling to believe them. Something isn’t sitting right with her and it seems like everyone around her is keeping secrets and she’ll need to fight to get the truth out.

Hi Jackie. I just got Done finishing your book “the perfect couple!!!! Was well written and very smooth to read. It was so smooth like eating jello & pudding you book!!!!! I guess they really were not the perfect couple; Danny being a sex addict and serial killer. Couldn’t believe he ended up the killer of those 4 men!!!!! And all because of what his father did to him and Danny’s mother. But whatever he did to them; the beatings the father gave to Danny & his mother should have been reported; or Danny should have done something like report his father in to the authorities. Kind regards, Emilio.
