Jacquelyn Middleton
Jacquelyn Middleton pens love stories for hopeful romantics. ‘Hopeful’ because her novels are always optimistic and believes that ‘happily ever afters’ are more important than ever before. However relationships are mess, just like life is, and her books are unafraid to go there as well. If you enjoy relationship and character-driven stories about people that deal with the disasters and triumphs that we all face, her novels are for you.

She is an own voices author, having dealt with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks her entire life, and she is dedicated to portraying mental health challenges realistically, empathetically, and honestly in her books.

Her books also feature pop culture. Like Jacquelyn herself, her characters adore theater, books, music, movies, and TV shows, and it’s a love that is shown on the page. Her addictions to soccer, hockey, comic cons, travel, and food show up here and there.

One day, she decided to do what scared her the most: write a novel. She had always to try, but things like time, fear, and self-doubt got in her way. There is always some reason not to try, but she did. It was a challenge and nerve-wracking but still fun. A lot of fun. Why didn’t she try this much sooner? Writing novels, which is mainly creating characters and worlds, exploring emotions and why people act the way that they do is the best job there is.

Jacquelyn finds she always wants to write. When she has a story in mind, she has a tremendous need to get all of it written down, and relive each of the scenes during the edits. She should probably take more time away from her computer since she typically writes through the week and on through her weekends, but she loves it.

One tool that she does use for inspiration is music. She will create playlists for her stories, and even for her characters. She finds that she is able to get into a character’s headspace rather easily with exactly the right song.

In the year 2019, she was named the Best Canadian Author at the RWA’s Toronto Romance Writers ‘Northern Hearts’ Awards for “Until the Last Star Fades”.

Her books have been featured by The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter, Redbook, Entertainment Weekly, Cosmo, The New York Daily News, NBC News, and the Huffington Post.

“London Belongs to Me” is the first novel in the “London Belongs to Me”
series and was released in 2016. A new start in a new city. But the same
old demons.

Your flight’s now boarding! Join Alex Sinclair for this life-changing, trans
Atlantic journey. This is a coming of age story all about following your dreams, friendship, and learning when to let go. And when to hang on.

Alex is a recent college grad from Tallahassee, Florida that is in love with London, comic cons, and pop culture. It isn’t easy being twenty-one years old, and Alex hasn’t ever been the most popular of girls. She is a geeky fangirl and an outsider, with dreams of becoming a playwright in a town that she has loved from afar, yet never visited.

Fleeing from America after a most devastating betrayal, she believes that London is where she will be understood and it is where she belongs. However Alex’s past of broken relationships and panic attacks is tough to escape. When her demons team up with one jealous rival that is determined to ruin her new British life, she starts questioning everything: her new friends, her life-long dream, and whether or not London is even where she really belongs.

“London, Can You Wait?” is the second novel in the “London Belongs to Me” series and was released in 2017. Mark loves Alex, and Alex loves Mark, however is love really enough?

Since Alex Sinclair moved to London from the US, she seems to have it all: supportive friends, a coveted job that writes for the theater, and the guy of her dreams, an Irish actor called Mark Keegan. However in the one year since the acclaimed debut of her play, their lives have been turned upside down.

Thanks to Mark’s role on a smash-hit British TV show, he is catapulted straight to stardom. Alex could not be any happier, until her boyfriend’s insatiable drive to succeed and popularity results in them being apart more than they’re together.

Forced to share him with unrelenting fangirls, showbiz heavy hitters, and intrusive members of the press, her hopes to have a stable and committed life with Mark begin fading. Her struggles with panic attacks, his increasingly worrisome behavior, and career uncertainty make her wonder: how much more can she bend before she breaks? A passionate story about loss, secrets, and ambition.

“Until the Last Star Fades” is the first stand alone novel and was released in 2018. A novel which blurs the line between women’s fiction and slow-burn romance. This is a must-read for devoted daughters, the moms they cherish, and hopeful romantics. Could you be the one that actually changes everything?

During Riley Hope’s senior year while at NYU, she seems to be on top of the world. With a loving mom that makes Lorelai Gilmore look more like a parenting slacker, ride-or-die friends, and a long-time boyfriend that is destined for the National Hockey League, she puts a smile on for the world. However behind it, she is drowning. She battles to stay afloat amid life in the shadows of a heartbreaking illness, while racked with fears for her future.

Then, Ben Fagan comes crashing right into her life. British, twenty-three years old, and all alone in the Big Apple after spending one disastrous pilot season in LA, this struggling actor is now looking for escape: mischief, alcohol, and sex (maximum fun, with minimum commitment). Anything at all to avoid going back across the pond.

While they form an unlikely bond, Riley keeps her reality away from Ben in order to keep him a happy refuge. However how long will she be able to hold back on the truth, and is Ben keeping secrets of his own too?

Here is a bittersweet tale about loss, sacrifice, love, and the life-altering choices we make.
