James Becker is a noteworthy author from the United Kingdom, who has written several successful novels in the thriller genre. Before becoming a well known author, James had served in the Royal Navy for a period of 20 years. He was a part of the Fleet Air Army of the Royal Navy and has served during the Falklands War. During his period of service, James has participated in a number of covert operations in places like Northern Ireland, Yemen and Russia. James is a well trained and accomplished pistol shot. He has a deep interest in the medieval and ancient history and this is the reason why he chose to become an author after his retirement. He began his writing career in the year 2008 by publishing his first novel. The first novel that he wrote was in collaboration with a fellow author named Peter Stuart Smith. Two authors collaborated on a few more occasions after the success of their first novel and named their collaboration as the Chris Bronson series. Other than the Chris Bronson series, James has also written a few standalone novels on his own. One of the standalone novels written by James has been translated into a regional language by famous translator Ralph Sander. James says that it was his creative mind that forced him to become a writer after his retirement. He has efficiently used the work knowledge and intelligence from his experience to create exciting plots and stories of his novels. The novels written by him showcase his expertise in art and have topped the charts on WH Smith and Waterstones and have become bestsellers on Amazon and B&N as well as others. The readers and the publishers have praised his acclaimed writing. James Becker believes that none of the authors have become successful with the blink of an eye. Everyone had to go through some or the other struggles in their life and he too was not an exception.
James believes that writing is a craft and a trade just like any other and a certain period of apprenticeship is necessarily required with competence in the use and knowledge of the English language. His career as an author did not start like any other author. At first, he used to write articles for numerous British magazines with a considerable success rate. He also used to write for several classified and unclassified publishing houses during his service period as a military personnel. Although, James had started writing as a passion and free time hobby, he always had the dream of becoming a full time writer. He says that he was extremely inspired by the writing works of authors Tom Clancy and Wilbur Smith because of the depictions of the complex story lines and military background in their novels. Hence, he has decided to write something like that of his own after getting retired from the Royal Navy. The first book that he wrote took him ten years from the time he wrote the first word to the time it got published. In between, James had to do a lot of changes in it as per the wishes of the publishers. He had to change the novel from first person to third person. James also had to change the title of the books multiple times in order to suit the changing storylines. After being bale to establish himself as a noteworthy author, James now spends most of his time writing the future novels of the Chis Bronson series. He has a habit of maintaining a simple spreadsheet, which helps him to track his progress and calculate the word count that he has finished or is required to finish in a stipulated time. The idea of using spreadsheet helps him to know whether he is ahead or behind the deadline. This makes his wife happy by seeing him not taking much stress in his writing career. She also helps James Becker in the research works and also tries to keep the track of his work. James feels blessed to have a lovely and helpful wife like her.
The Chris Bronson series of novels written by James Becker consists of a total of 6 novels published between the years 2008 and 2013. The first novel of the series was titled ‘The first Apostle’ and was published by the Bantam publishing house in the year 2008. The novel was released as an explosive thriller novel on debut and depicted dangerous secrets and ancient inscriptions. The main protagonist of the series, Chris Bronson is introduced in the opening plot of the novel as a devastated person full of tragedies in his life. He becomes even more devastated on learning about the tragic death of the wife of his best friend, the woman he used to love secretly. When he arrives in Italy to give his condolences to his best friend and see the love of his life for the last time, he finds several evidences hinting at a break-in and an inscription on a stone above the fireplace of the house written in Latin language. To decipher the inscription on the stone and understand its meaning, Chris decides to take the help of his ex-wife, who is an expert in dealing with antiques. The trail of the clues takes them on a treacherous path all over Europe before leading them to a dangerous secret. The secret hidden in the stone makes them aware of an important truth which was destructive enough to shake the foundations of the beliefs of the Christian faith.
The second novel of the series was titled ‘The Moses Stone’ and was published in the year 2009 by the Bantam publishing house. The plot of the novel shows three different stories, of which the first one deals with an ancient code. An English couple discovers a clay tablet filled with ancient writings in Morocco. However, they die in a car crash a day later and stone goes missing. In the second story, protagonist Chris Bonson decides to go behind the trail of clues to uncover the secret that has been hidden for about two millennia. His investigations lead him from Moroccon souk to the caves of Qumran, and from the sinister echoes of the Jerusalem City to the fortress which has the name that literally means death. In the third part of the novel, Chris is depicted as involved in a deadly chase. He seems to be threatened by deadly extremists on every step. However, he does not fear the consequences and seems determined to find the ancient stone which has dangerous secrets hidden in its writings.

Hi there James Becker. I have enjoyed your books of ancient stories so much, The Messiah Secret being my first, I had to write my own. My story is called “The Ark…God’s Final Secret,” and runs for about 500 pages. I would like to know, from your own experiences if it’s not too much trouble, if this type of story is still sellable in 2021. Best regards, Terry Smith.
Terry Smith, I would buy it!
