James D.F Hannah is an award-winning author best known for his Henry Malone series. The series follows Henry Malone’s investigations as he works to solve crime puzzles in his West Virginia hometown. Other works that the author is recognized for include The Righteous Path. James started as a columnist and journalist, and he bagged different awards for his role in journalism. Later on, he moved into government public relations before he started writing.
The author was nominated for the Shamus Award for his Henry Malone series. It’s without a doubt, a talented author who weaves interesting stories characterized by wit and humor. He is a resident of Louisville, Kentucky.

Midnight Lullaby is the first book in the Henry Malone series. The book introduces us to Henry Malone, an ex-state trooper, a troubled man. A roadside shooting ends his career and leaves him with a shattered knee. He is also recovering from the alcoholism that has cost him his family. Without a job and a family, he has no choice but to go back to his childhood home in West Virginia. Here, he gets a request to look into a case involving a young mother who had vanished into thin air. This proves to be the perfect opportunity to redeem himself and offer the second chance that he deserves.

Henry sets to work in the search for the young woman. Bobby Fisher is a mother of two, and her disappearance her everyone bothered. In the course of his investigations, Henry bumps into some unexpected information involving a corrupt lawyer, a triggered sheriff, and a good number of meth cooks. There is also a seductive and dangerous white supremacist as well as a stunning legal secretary in this mix. This perilous blend takes Henry and Woody on a wild chase along a dangerous road. What starts as a simple search for a missing lady turns into a dangerous mission where both men have to go to great lengths to stay alive. The attacks on Henry start a few hours after he starts his investigations, and this serves as a sign that he has to be cautious throughout his investigations.

Five years is a long time to stay behind bars and pay for other people’s mistakes. Could there be a link between the man who confessed and the murderers? Why the sudden change of heart? She Talks to Angels is one hell of a story. Henry uncovers deep secrets about Meadow as well as her family.
