Jane Costello is an English author of fiction. She worked as a newspaper journalist for some time before becoming an author. She worked at places such as the Liverpool Echo as a graduate trainee and the Daily Mail. Costello was Editor of the Liverpool Daily Post until 2007. She was the editor there for over four years.

While on maternity leave, she wrote her first book. It was titled Bridesmaids. When it was released in 2008, it became an instant bestseller and paved the way for more. It was also nominated in the Comedy Romance category for a Melissa Nathan Award. The book introduces Evie, who is 27 years old and works as a journalist. She has a sparkling personality and does her best to be a good bridesmaid and friend to her friend Grace on her wedding day.

Jane Costello didn’t rest on her laurels and quickly followed the release of Bridesmaids with another novel titled The Nearly-Weds. This book did well too and was named the Romantic Comedy of the Year by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.

She has since written several more novels in the same genre and they are doing well. The books have been sold all over the world and by now have been translated into many different languages at fifteen and counting. Jane Costello resides in Liverpool with her husband Mark and their sons.

Bridesmaids is the first book ever released by author Jane Costello! In this book, readers are introduced to Evie. Evie is a bridesmaid to her best friend Grace, who is getting married. There is less than an hour left before Grace is due to walk down the aisle and get married, starting the rest of her life with the man that she loves.

Evie’s main job is to make sure that the bride makes it to that place where she is at the starting line at the right time (or early) and ready to get married. Worse, Grace is known for her bad time management. Now she’s got to try and get her best friend to supersede those tendencies and get ready to walk down the aisle. It’s not helping that Grace’s daughter is busy messing with the hotel carpet and she has no idea where Grace even is.

The only thing that Evie has going for her right now when everything is falling apart is the fact that her fake chicken fillet enhancers are working their magic for her chest! These enhancers are just the thing that she needs to feel special and keep her focus intact. Until they begin to start poking out over her dress top, at the exact time when she spots a hot man.

Unfortunately, Jack also spots the chicken cutlets poking out, which is extremely embarrassing. Jack also happens to be rugged and very handsome. Now this very attractive guy has just laid eyes on her secret weapon, and this journalist is shaken up. Not to mention that she was very attracted to him from the very first time that she ever saw him.

Evie thinks that Jack could be the one, but she also has never been in love. Lately, she’s been worrying a lot that she never actually will fall in love. But what are the odds of falling in love at a wedding? It would be all too cliché. But Evie has bigger things to worry about than her own love life as she tries to track down Grace to get her down the aisle.

It’s scary to be a bridesmaid at one wedding, let alone three more. Then things get worse when she finds out that her friend Valentina is actually Jack’s date. So much for that, even if Valentina is a bit too obsessed with herself. Her dates are usually just as shallow as she is, which means that Evie should stay away from Jack. He’s probably just another dud. She’s not about to try and steal a guy away from a girlfriend, let alone Valentina.

Evie eventually gets Grace down the aisle and watches her best friend get married. But when she starts a random conversation with Jack, Evie starts to suspect that he’s not as shallow as she may have feared. They talk together for some time and their conversation goes on long into the night.

Evie can’t believe the chemistry that they have and finds herself wanting to really believe that Jack is the person that he seems to be. But is he? You’ll have to pick up Bridesmaids by Jane Costello to find out.

The Nearly-Weds is the second book from Jane Costello. If you loved the first one or are just a fan of anything that resembles a fun and light read, you’ll love this novel!

The worst thing that could happen to any bride is fairly obvious– barring the dress being stained, it’s your husband to be never showing up. That’s exactly what happens to bride Zoe when Jason jilts her for good. Her family and friends are sympathetic, but she can’t stand being pitied any longer.

Zoe decides to go to America to find work and a new life. She has no idea what is going to happen but finds work as a nanny. She is the temporary mother figure to the children of single dad Ryan. The kids love her, but the boss isn’t so quick to betray any sort of feelings towards her. It doesn’t help when Zoe accidentally exposes her knickers to colleagues of Ryan’s or when a toy puts him in the hospital.

Still, Zoe does her best to keep her head up and be optimistic about her life. She even makes some friends that have her back, Trudie, Felicity, and Amber. Trudie is fun, Felicity is quiet, and Amber is sort of a hippie. After being left by her fiancé, these three girls are just the support system that Zoe needs.

Over time, Zoe and Ryan slowly begin to get a better understanding of the other. But can they be together ever, or is it just a pipe dream that Zoe has to let go of? Check out The Nearly-Weds and find out for yourself!
