The American writer Jane Henry is well known for her unique brand of fiction and romance, creating bestselling novels for an audience worldwide. Hugely popular, her work features tension and suspense, really raising and elevating her writing in the process for the reader. Knowing the genre’s conventions well, she also knows her audience, really taking her stories to the next level for them. Keeping them glued to the edges of their seats, she manages to create something entirely different and unique.
Over the years, she’s written several different series, as she ensures that her many readers return for more time and time again. Bringing an erotic angle to her work, too, she raises the passion, delivering stories that operate on several different levels. She’s a gifted writer creating well-written narratives that often feature strong male protagonists with a sensitive side. This approach goes some way towards explaining why she’s such a success, becoming a household name for many.
Focusing on her characters, she gets inside the minds of her protagonists, really looking and understanding what drives them. Establishing a real sense of motivation, everyone feels fully fleshed out, as her books resonate with the audience on every level. Over time the reader becomes invested in her stories, as her trademark style is familiar to audiences from all over. With more in the pipeline, she’s not going to finish her career as a writer any time soon either.
Early and Personal Life
Always keenly interested in literature, and romance novels, in particular, Jane Henry would focus on this area for much of her life. Honing and refining her style as a writer, she became a crucial figure in the contemporary romance scene, bringing in her own audience. Using her own life experiences to help inspire her, she’d also seek to provide a sense of escapism and entertainment for the reader.
Finding her own voice in time, she would go on to become a bestselling novelist, as she continued to write about strong male heroes and feisty women. Maintaining a leading presence both offline as well as on, she remains an active member of the literary community too. Residing on the East Coast with her partner her children, she continues to write to this very day regularly.
Writing Career
One of the first books that Jane Henry would publish was titled ‘Complete Me,’ which was written in 2016 as the third entry into the already ongoing ‘Bound to You’ series. For much of her career as a novelist, she has since focused on contemporary romance, not shying away from eroticism and passion. She’s also gone on to write many other books and series too, such as ‘Billionaire Daddies,’ ‘Heroes of Avalere,’ and ‘NYC Doms,’ to name just a few.
In the past, she’s also written alongside numerous other fellow romance novelists too, including Maisy Archer, Loki Renard, and Shanna Handel, amongst many others. She’s also produced a number of stand-alone novels too, along with omnibus editions of her work, as well as contributing to numerous other romance series. A USA Today bestselling writer, she’s both critically and commercially successful, gaining plaudits from reviewers and the general public alike.
His Lady
Arriving through the ‘Blushing Books’ imprint first, this would be the fifth book in the ‘Boston Doms’ series of novels, published on the 23rd of February in 2017. Written alongside fellow romance novelist Maisy Archer, it can be read on its own, providing another stand-alone, self-contained romance. There’s also lots for fans of the series and of the author as well, whilst simultaneously offering lots of twists and turns.
Growing up on the New York City streets, Elena Slater definitely knows how to hold her own, being the younger sister of Alexander ‘Slay’ Slater. Not submissive herself, all of her friends are members of ‘The Club,’ which is the most well respected BDSM establishment in all of Boston. That’s when Blake Coleman arrives on the scene, and he’s set to change all that, but not before they both end up caught in a smear campaign driven by revenge. Will they overcome their differences and end up together, can Blake let go of the past dealing with his deceased wife, and what will soon become of his lady?
Wearing its eroticism well on its sleeve, this definitely delivers, as there’s steamy sensual passion continually throughout. Filled with romance, the story and narrative are well told, really drawing the reader in with its suspense-driven thriller aspect. It’s an easy book to pick up, making it a great casual read, although it does offer returning fans of the series plenty to enjoy here too.
The Bratva’s Captive
Initially published through the Kindle platform in 2019, this would first arrive on the 15th of July that year. It would be the third title in the ‘Wicked Doms’ series of novels, following on thematically from the previous two books, featuring the underworld of the Bratvas once again. They don’t necessarily need to be read in order, though, as the stories are stand-alone, with self-contained romances featured.
Heading off to Russia following the passing of her mother, Olena had grown up in America and now lived with her father. Not knowing much about his business, she understands he’s the leader of the Bratva, torturing men in his basement, one of whom she tends to with water. Following this, she’s later kidnapped by a rival leader, as Maksym holds her, but soon their relationship turns in a different direction. Will she be able to overcome this trying and intense ordeal, who will survive, and what will become of the Bratva’s captive?
Fast-paced and intense, this is definitely a book that doesn’t hold back when it comes to suspense, with its exciting and engaging story. The characters themselves are also all extremely well-drawn, and it features a very erotic edge throughout, with there being lots of steamy passion. Written in a fun and entertaining manner, there are definitely some darker aspects here, too, as it’s similar to the previous books in the series.
