Janice Frost
Janice Frost was born and raised in West Lothian, Scotland. Her love of writing started once she was given a notebook by a teacher in primary school and told to write ‘Just Imagine’, on the cover. She enjoyed penning stories in this notebook so much she decided she would like to be an author. Due to work, life, and children, it took her a little longer than she had imagined.

Janice, after a ten year stint of working in London, moved to Lincolnshire. Now she writes full time. In her free time she likes reading in coffee shops, walking, and reading.

“Murder Among Friends” is the first novel in the “Warwick and Bell” series and was released in 2020. Meet Jane Bell. After her husband died she left her job as a teacher in order to volunteer as a special constable with the police. Her first shift she gets called to a murder scene. This young man has dragged himself up to the top of Greestone Stairs to die. Jane, following her instincts, finds she’s becoming very involved in this case.

For Detective Steph Warwick, specials don’t have any place in a murder investigation, and this upstart rookie’s meddling where she doesn’t belong. The victim ran this group at the university teaching men how you pick up women. Steph and Jane have to venture into a dangerous and dark world of online misogyny. Steph knows all about abusive men. However can she work with Jane in order put this killer behind bars?

This is a truly fascinating and intriguing read which pulls you in right from the beginning. Fans of the novel found themselves fully immersed in the mystery and couldn’t quit reading until they’d finished it.

“Murder Across the Lines” is the second novel in the “Warwick and Bell” series and was released in 2021. At this busy crossing in Lincoln city center this motorbike skids to a stop. A man in leathers jumps off of the bike and grabs the young girl that’s waiting at the lights. He pushes her roughly aside, remounts, and roars away. The girl falls, having been stabbed.

Special Constable Jane Bell sees everything. She cradles the dying girl and hears the final word on her lips: a missing local boy’s name, Nate Price, who is twelve years old. DI Steph Warwick is looking for Nate, too. Jane hoped their paths wouldn’t ever cross again. Now they will have to work together in order to locate Nate before he is also executed in broad daylight.

This is a well written mystery with turns and twists aplenty and with a credible cast of characters along with an intense, vicious, and emotional storyline. This is a hard hitting and realistic feeling story. Janice delivers a frightening follow up with the return and growth of many of the characters.
