Janice Maynard is an American novelist most known for writing contemporary romance novels. The USA Today bestselling author is one of those writers that had writing in their blood from a very young age. A voracious reader, her goal while in the third grade was to read every fiction book in the school library. She would go on to read the entire A section that was easily more than 200 titles. From the age of eight, Janice had a great love for books and knew that her destiny was to become a writer. Nonetheless, she did not have a smooth journey to the top as she had to face multiple rejections before she got a publisher to publish her novels. She currently lives in Tennessee with Charles, her husband. When not writing novels, she loves spending time with her daughters or traveling and hiking with her husband.
Janice Maynard wrote her very first literary work while she was in the third grade, a short story she named The Princess and the Robbers. Her short story went on to win a red ribbon award awarded by the school arts fair. It was from that point on that she knew that she wanted to do nothing else. While she did not make any money with the title or win any awards, the Coca Cola Company awarded her a six-pack of coke for her efforts. Her second work was the more commercial story titled Why My Mum Loves To Drink Coke, which she wrote while she was in the sixth grade. It was while she was in junior high that she began to write for a wider audience. Most of her writing at this time was composed of riveting tales in a dozen or so pages, which she stapled together and distributed to friends during the boring class interludes. Things changed for the better when she went to high school and became the editor of Maroon and White, her school’s bulletin. She made maximum use of her editorial discretion to pen insightful pieces on meaty subjects that helped her advance her writing skills. College did not offer much in terms of literary writing, and Janice’s career for the most part stalled. Four years later, she had graduated as an elementary school teacher with her writing career seemingly consigned to the dustbin.
However, her writing bug and the desire to be published soon returned, and despite having to keep up with her adventurous husband, full time employment, and motherhood, she would write in her spare time. In 1996, Kensington Publishing purchased Sweetheart, her first novel that she had written over several years, allowing her to finally realize her dream of becoming a published author. After teaching second grade and grade for several years, Janice Maynard resigned from her job in 2004 to pursue a professional career in writing. She would soon follow that up with the sale of two more titles to Precious Gem publishers. Since then she has gone on to sell nearly fifty novellas and books with various publishers.
Janice Maynard has been a prolific writer with several series and freestanding novels to her name and more to come. These series include Texas Cattleman’s Club, Kavanaghs of Silver Glen, Kilted Heroes, The Men of Wolff Mountain, Billionaires and Babies, and Southern Hearts among others. She has also published Mills and Boon novels in addition her freestanding titles. Most of her contemporary romance series and novels are stories of romantic, sexy heroes who seem to want for nothing, having incredibly good looks, status, and wealth. These novels are the classic boy or girl falls in love, only to find out that the object of their love is either forbidden or that they have too much baggage from their past that is holding them back. With settings ranging from the Scotland highlands, to rural Texas country sides to plush city offices, these sexy tales come complete with the intricate twists and turns that only Janice Maynard can spin.
The first novel of the Men Of Wolff Mountain series, Into His Private Domain is one of Janice Maynard’s most popular titles. The chief protagonist Gareth Wolff has cut himself off from the world in his castle rejecting all human interaction. So when a bedraggled Gracie Darlington turns up on his doorstep with cuts and bruises, his first thought is that this is just another gold digger that needed to be run off the property. Trying to scare her off, she loses her footing, falls and hits her head losing her memory. Overwhelmed with suspicion and guilt, he takes her into one of the rooms in his home so that she may heal of her alleged amnesia and wounds. But while he has a strong desire to know why she turned up at his doorstep, he is slowly overcome by a passion and protectiveness for the sexy interloper, that he cannot explain or control. Used to getting all that he ever wanted, this may be that one time that he may not since once Gracie gets her memory back, it may be too late for him to make his move.
The second novel of the Men of Wolff Mountain series is a novel that will leave any contemporary romance fan in thrall. Six years to the day, billionaire adventurer Kieran Wolff had used a moniker and seduced Olivia Delgado, only to disappear soon after with no trace, leaving her with child. He is now back, trying to seduce Olivia all over again, and insisting on seeing his daughter. While she knows that Wolff is the last man she should be in consort with, the tinder of passion between them remain strong, clouding her judgment. The big question is, could Kieran still be the same old cunning wolf that had lied to her and betrayed her? Kieran had made it very difficult to get her back when he had lied to her about who he was and his name the first time round, making it impossible to trace him when she fell pregnant. However, things could be different this time as Kieran is prepared to change for the sake of his daughter. But the question that still remains is has he left his adventurous life behind to commit to a life on Wolff Mountain.
