Jarret J. Krosoczka
Jarret J. Krosoczka was once a goofy kid that enjoyed drawing. He is now a published author/illustrator with a lot of books to his credit.
Growing up in Worcester, Massachusetts Jarret was always drawing and always had a cast of characters that he was writing stories about. When he was in the ninth grade, Jarrett won a contest with The Worcester Telegram & Gazette and saw his work in print, for the first time.
It sparked a fire within him. He went on to graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design, after he was initially rejected. It was during his senior year that he got his very first illustration job for a national education publisher. Six months after he graduated RISD, he took his portfolio into New York City and got a contract for his first book. Immediately, he ran off to a pay phone so he could share the good news with his grandparents. “Good Night, Monkey Boy” was published June 12, 2001.
Jarrett’s books have landed on many recommendation lists, including the IRA/CBC Chrildren’s Choice Awards and the Texas 2X2 list. He has been selected by Print as one of their twenty top new visual artists under the age of thirty and has had his work short listed by USA Today, Newsweek, The New York Times, and The Boston Globe, among others. “Hey, Kiddo” was a National Book Award Finalist.
“Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute” is the first novel in the “Lunch Lady” series and was released in the year 2009. Serving justice, and lunch. Terrence, Hector, and Dee have always wondered about their lunch lady. What does she do when she’s not dishing up the daily special? Where does she live? Does she have a bunch of cats at home?
Little do they know, Lunch Lady doesn’t just serve up sloppy joes, she also serves up justice. Whatever danger lies ahead, it isn’t any match for LUNCH LADY.
“Lunch Lady and the League of Librarians” is the second novel in the “Lunch Lady” series and was released in the year 2009. Lunch Lady is able to sniff out something rotten like nobody else, and there is definitely something rotten happening in the library. The usually friendly librarians are now secretive and cold.
Even Dee cannot seem to crack a smile out of them. What sort of darkness could be lurking in the hearts of the librarians? Lunch Lady is on the case. Terrence, Hector, and Dee are going along for the ride.
“Lunch Lady and the Author Visit Vendetta” is the third novel in the “Lunch Lady” series and was released in the year 2009. Terrence, Hector, and Dee are quite excited about Author Visit Day. Lewis Scribson writes the Flippy Bunny books, and Hector is a giant fan. It also gets Terrence and Dee out of their math class.
Something is just a wee bit off about this special guest. The gym teacher, Coach Birkby, disappears under mysterious circumstances the day of his visit. What evil designs could this world-famous writer have on is agenda? Lunch Lady is going to get to the bottom of this matter, even if she must kick some bunny butt.
“Lunch Lady and the Summer Camp Shakedown” is the fourth novel in the “Lunch Lady” series and was released in the year 2010. Lunch Lady and the Breakfast Bunch kids look forward to nothing more than a relaxing summer vacation without any funny business. What evils could happen to them at summer camp?
Of course, there is that legendary swamp monster. Stories say that he haunts the camp at night. That is just a legend. Is it really? Once more, Hector, Dee, and Terrence have to help Lunch Lady prevail against this secret enemy.
“Lunch Lady and the Bake Sale Bandit” is the fifth novel in the “Lunch Lady” series and was released in the year 2010. The Breakfast Bunch is eagerly anticipating for the upcoming bake sale, and the best part is that it is raising money for quite an awesome field trip.
However, when all of the snacks vanish, it isn’t any laughing matter. Somebody is sabotaging the bake sale. Why would they? Lunch Lady and the Breakfast Bunch are hot on the trail, a brownie crumb at a time.
“The Frog Who Croaked” is the first novel in the “Platypus Police Squad” series and was released in the year 2013. A local schoolteacher’s gone missing, and the one thing fishier than the circumstances surrounding it is the smell that comes from the bag he left behind.
All of the clues are pointing to Frank Pandini Jr, billionaire businessman, but why would Pandini get his paws into illegal fish trade?
“The Ostrich Conspiracy” is the second novel in the “Platypus Police Squad” series and was released in the year 2014. The opening of the world’s largest indoor amusement complex, the Kalamazoo City Dome, has got everybody in town buzzing. Particularly because it will be the shooting site for Chase Mercy’s new blockbuster movie.
That is when things begin going haywire, however. Who would want to sabotage the Dome, and why? Detectives Corey O’Malley and Rick Zengo are now on the case.
“Last Panda Standing” is the third novel in the “Platypus Police Squad” series and was released in the year 2015. The Kalamazoo City mayoral race heats up, and Frank Pandini Jr. has been threatened by one mysterious assailant. He requests the special Platypus Police Squad protection detail: Detective Rick Zengo. This leaves O’Malley to be partnered up with Jo Cooper, the newest detective the squad has. Can Zengo get to the bottom of these attacks, without O’Malley backing him up?
“Never Say Narwhal” is the fourth novel in the “Platypus Police Squad” series and was released in the year 2016. Frank Pandini Jr is Kalamazoo City’s mayor and everybody’s celebrity, except for O’Malley, Zengo, and Cooper who cannot seem to close a single one of their cases.
To make things worse, there is a mysterious hulking shadow that has appeared in the waters around KC. Could this spell the Platypus Police Squad’s end?
