The central characters depicted in this series include Megan Raven, Ron Raven, Adam Fairfax, Liam Raven, Chloe Hamilton, Luke Savarini, Kate Fairfax, etc. Cresswell has set the stories in Wyoming, Georgia, and Denver. This series revolves around two families which are linked by a multimillionaire businessman named Ron Raven. Ron plays the role of a loving father and husband to both the households for 25 years. But, when Ron Raven disappears mysteriously, the two families are left with many questions that only Ron can answer. The first book is entitled ‘Missing’. It was published by the Mira publication in 2007. Initially, it is mentioned that Megan Raven shows the desperation to save the Wyoming ranch owned by her mother. It was used as collateral for a 3 million dollar loan by her father Ron. This money disappeared with him, leaving Megan and her mother in a difficult situation.

More troubles come calling in their lives when the loan gets called in by the manager of the Georgia bank named Adam Fairfax. Adam is the brother of Ron’s second wife and just like Megan and his first wife, he was also not aware of Ron’s twin families until he came in contact with Megan. Adam and Megan are brought together by the turmoil of their families. They head south to find Ron and the missing millions of dollars. The more they search, the more web of greed, lies, and secrecy is discovered by them.

The second installment of the series is known as ‘Suspect’. It was also published in 2007 by Mira. This novel opens with the revelation that Ron Raven deceived the two families on the basis of false promises and has now gone missing. When the families come to know about the ultimate betrayal, they question themselves as to who to trust and who to suspect. Liam Raven in introduced as a cynical attorney. He was aware of the bigamy of his father, but chose to keep it hidden. But, when it came out in the open, there was no need to hide anything anymore. Ironically, Liam deals with divorce cases as a specialist. But, he makes an exception by choosing to defend his new client Chloe Hamilton in a murder case. Chloe is charged with the murder of her husband, a renowned personality and Denver mayor. As the court proceedings take place, Liam and Chloe get very close to each other. Chloe reveals that her deceased husband had a number of secrets, including a link to the other family of Ron Raven. Liam thinks that if he succeeds in acquitting Chloe Hamilton, he will be able to uncover a string of treachery and lies that lead to his father.
