Jasmine Webb
Jasmine Webb lives in the mountains for most of the year, dreaming about the beach.

When Jasmine is not busy writing stories, she can be found hiking up moderately sized hills, chasing her dog around, and playing Pokemon Go.

“Aloha Alibi” is the first novel in the “Charlotte Gibson Mystery” series and was released in 2021. Most people flock to Hawaii for its white sand beaches, gorgeous weather, and cocktails at sunset. Charlotte Gibson, on the other hand, is fleeing for her life after some vengeful mobster leaves a severed finger on her doorstep to warn her. Message received, definitely.

That is how Charlotte (Charlie to everybody except her mother) finds herself on Maui with just six bucks to her name, living with a mom that cannot quit giving her advice on how to land herself a husband. However when a businessman gets murdered and his company offers up a reward to whoever can find this killer, Charlie sees an opportunity: with that amount of money, she could afford her own place and begin a new life here well away from all the people that want her dead. After all, how hard can it be to hunt down some murderer?

Teaming up with a couple of old ladies with more spunk than Betty White herself, Charlie is certain that she is on the right track to snag this reward money. But the infuriating yet smoldering hot cop attempting to keep her far away from this case of his has got other ideas. Toss in corrupt local politicians, a day job working at an ice cream shop, and a best friend that’s attempting to act as the voice of reason, and Charlie’s got her work cut out for her.

Is she going to be able to track down this killer, or is Charlie’s time in paradise going right to hell in a hand basket?

“Booked for Murder” is the first novel in the “Poppy Perkins Mystery” series and was released in 2022. Poppy’s dreams of becoming an author is currently on life support, with plug about to be pulled. She is hardly able to make rent, and she is avoiding all of her mom’s calls about attending law school. She has not even hit rock bottom yet, this is merely a ledge on her way down.

Poppy Perkins decides to talk back to some customer that thinks that it is okay to scream at her about donuts, she knows she’ll get fired. However what she didn’t expect is for the customer to also be a local celebrity, and for a video of their interaction to go viral. Or that the customer would drop dead just five minutes later, poisoned by the donut that Poppy just served to him. Okay, she has hit rock bottom now.

With Poppy being the prime suspect, she must find this killer before she gets locked up for a crime that she didn’t even commit. However what originally looked to be just a run-of-the-mill murder soon lands Poppy in the middle of a case that is thicker than San Francisco fog. And is Poppy going to be able to trust the journalist with adorable dimples that insists that he is just after the truth? Is she going to get to the bottom of this case and find this murderer, or will she get Boston creamed?

“Read Between the Lies” is the second novel in the “Poppy Perkins Mystery” series and was released in 2022. Poppy’s dreams are coming true finally, until they turn into her absolute worst nightmare.

When her new editor gets murdered just next to her, she knows that she needs Ophelia’s help in order to get justice for Ellie. The pair soon find themselves right in the middle of a scandal that rocks the world of professional chess which could lead them to the killer.

Poppy, at the same time, is also attempting to figure out how to work with this new editor of hers that is certain Poppy will fail, working on finding herself a new job, and looking for a new roommate. Not to mention, seeing where her relationship with Nick is going.

Oh, and she has gotten herself caught up in another case with Ophelia, and this time around Interpol is involved. But all in a day’s work, right? However just as Poppy gets closer to finding this killer, things are getting even more dangerous for her. Is Poppy going to outsmart her opponent, or will she find herself in a real-life checkmate?

“Dead to Rights” is the first novel in the “Mackenzie Owens Mystery” series and was released in 2023. Mackenzie “Mack” Owens was supposed to live out every millennial’s dream, however instead it turned into a nightmare. Inheriting a bookstore and house, she was going to leave the New York City rat race after she got fired from her job and begin a new life for herself on the coast of Cornwall, in England. No more fourteen hour work days and rats the size of small toddlers. Hello white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and cobblestone streets. But unfortunately for her, things do not quite go as planned.

Not only does she have to share this new home with some eccentric grandma that she has never met before, but when she opens the bookstore and finds a dead body on the ground, the cops hone in on Mack and her grandma immediately as the prime suspects. This move was not supposed to mean a life spent in prison making toilet wine.

But instead of spending her days eating scones with cream and jam and selling books out by the sea, she now must work with her grandma to track this killer down and clear her own name. Sounds pretty simple, right? Armed without much more than her snarky attitude and wits, Mack will soon learn that this charming coast town has got a secret dark side. And the aggravating private investigator with his sexy smile that she continues running into has got something to hide, but what is it?

While she continues getting closer to finding this killer, she realizes that she is next on his list. Is she going to get to the bottom of this case before she finds herself at the bottom of the sea?
