n Jayne Castle is the pseudonym used by the New York Times Bestselling author named Jayne Ann Krentz from America. She is particularly well known for from writing romantic-suspense novels, which often contain a paranormal and psychic twist. She was born on March 28, 948 in Cobb, California, The United States. Most of the novels written by her are set in three different worlds, namely, contemporary, historical, and futuristic. For each of the three genres Jayne uses a different pen name such as Jayne Ann Krentz, Amanda Quick, and Jayne Castle. Other than these pseudonyms, she also uses a number of others for writing different types of books. Some of the famous pen names used by Jayne include, Stephanie James, Amanda Glass, Jayne Taylor, Jayne Bentley, etc. Most of the novels written by Jayne cover a variety of genres such as science fiction & fantasy and romance. During her entire writing career, author Jayne has been able to sell more than 35 million copies of her novels all over the world in printed format. They have also been translated into a number of foreign languages that has helped her gather huge fans and followers of her novels throughout the world.

Before becoming a full time author, Jayne obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the California University situated in Santa Cruz and then went on to pursue her Master’s Degree from the San Jose State University located in California, in the subject of Library Science. After earning her master’s degree, Jayne began working as a librarian in both the corporate as well as academic libraries. Eventually, she went on to become a full time writer and many romance, paranormal, contemporary, and suspense novels in her writing career. Because of being an outspoken advocate of the novels based on the romance genre, she has been awarded with the prestigious Susan Koppelman Award for the Feminist Studies. During her initial days of working as a librarian at Duke, Jayne had started writing stories on her own, which were loosely based on romance and paranormal influences. She continued to write while working as a librarian for almost 6 years and also kept sending mails about proposals for newer novels, but always faced rejection. Jayne says many times during that period she lost hope and stopped writing. But, it had become a compulsion for her, so she kept on writing. In the middle of this, she got married to Frank Krentz, who used to work in the aerospace industry. Shortly after her marriage, Jayne moved to Seattle, Washington and settled there because of her husband’s job.

Author Jayne Castle ha written around 5 successful novel series in her career, one of which is the Rainshadow series. It is comprised of a total of 4 books published between the years 2012 and 2015. The novels of the Rainshadow series also serve as the parts 9 to 12 of another series written by her called, the Harmony series. The first novel of the series was published under the title The Lost Night’. It was released by the Jove publishing house in the year 2012. The plot of this novel revolves around the lives of the main character Harry Sebastian and Rachael Blake, and is set in a mysterious world called Harmony. This world contains a place called the Rainshadow Island, which is a beautiful sanctuary and a perfect place for the ones who do not fit in Harmony. The lace seemed to be safe for all those went there as their secrets are very well guarded. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Rachael Blake is introduced as being trained in one of the exotic forms of the martial arts and having the ability to detect the auras of the dangerous and psychic animals. She finds peace on the Rainshadow Island along with her companion and operates a cafe and a bookstore there. Soon, the tranquility of her new and peaceful life is turned into chaos after she meets Harry Sebastian, who the descendant of an infamous pirate. He arrives to investigate the strange developments in the woods of the Preserve, which were privately owned. When Harry meets Rachael and sees her amber-colored eyes, he gets drawn towards her. He is required to tread carefully as she has some special talents to help him track the dangerous rogue, who were violating the Preserve. With her special abilities, Rachael Blake can sense the darkness in Harry Sebastian’s heart. But, as their desire for having each other in their lives increases, they find that it can weaken even the toughest defense and make even the strongest of all to be wanting more.

The second novel of the Rainshadow series was published in the year 2013 by the Jove publishing house. It was titled as ‘Deception Cove’ and revolved around the lives of the main characters Drake Sebastian and Alice North. The plot of this novel also depicts the world of Harmony where the Rainshadow Island is considered as a home to some mysterious preserves and secrets that have been hidden for centuries. The island also contains a treasure, which is on the hunt by many. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Alice North is described as having the ability of making things disappear. She is light-talented and can also make herself disappear. She uses this ability during her acts of magic along with her dust bunny named Houdini. Drake Sebastian is introduced in the novel as a business mogul. He has become day-blind after nearly destroying his eyesight in a lab accident. Because of this rare situation, he can see Alice even if she disappears using her special ability. It seems that he needs her desperately in his life. Now, two of the most dangerous Old World crystals seem to be missing from the Rainshadow Island, which ignites a paranormal storm. Drake believes that Alice can use her ability to find the missing crystals. He makes her agree to the idea of going there, but she puts the condition that she will only go after the Marriage of Convenience. With this, she seems to have a guaranteed and memorable honeymoon on the Rainshadow Island as two of them share a passion of love with each other. The beautiful location of the Rainshadow Island also seems perfect for their explosive love and romance.
