Hailing from Nevada, this particular American author is well known for her ability to create a well crafted and tightly woven romance novel, with a sharp eye for character as well as an intricate and highly engaging narrative that draws the reader gradually in. Writing from her own perspectives inspired by her lifestyle, she’s got an immense gift for accuracy in her stories, creating narratives and characters that resonate with their many readers. Not only living what she writes about, she also spends much of free time engaged in other creative rural activities as well, making her one of the most genuine voices within her field to date.

Early and Personal Life

Born in Idaho in the United States of America, the author to be Jeannie Watt was born and raised in the state. Growing up with a strong passion for the written word, she harnessed her love of both reading and writing from a very early age. She would also seek inspiration from the world around her, along with partaking in a number of other different activities as well, always keeping herself active.

Gaining degrees in both geology and education, she also met her husband whilst studying and playing pool as well. Sharing this as a passion with her husband, it’s altered much of her outlook on life, along with how she perceives things. This in turn is clearly evident in her work, as she writes with an eye focused on her environment, bringing a level of understanding and accuracy there wouldn’t otherwise be.

Working a whole variety of different jobs before becoming a writer, she has managed to gain a lot of experience to draw from. From her time as a miner underground, to driving a train and working as a motorman, they’ve all provided a great wealth of ideas for her. Her very first job, though, was working as an usherette in a local cinema collecting tickets and handing out popcorn.

Currently still writing to this very day, she still lives with her husband in their home in Nevada, where they have lived half their life. Teaching within the arts and sciences departments as well, she also works a rural high-school, along with her writing career. With a lot more to come it appears she’s not stopping anytime soon, as she’s set to continue on into the foreseeable future.

Writing Career

Arriving on the literary scene back in 2008, Jeannie Watt made her initial breakthrough as a fully fledged author with the novel Cop on Loan. Later working as part of a two-part Mills and Boon bumper edition double novel, she soon went on to write more stand-alone novels. This was where she really started to find herself, though, before creating series and franchises, making her the writer that she currently is today.

With over three series of her own so far and counting, she’s well on her way to creating her own extensive backlog of work. These titles include ongoing franchises such as ‘Too Many Cooks?’, ‘Bishop Brothers’ as well as ‘The Montana Brothers’. Mostly consisting of around three titles in each, whilst ‘Bishop Brothers’ has two, she maintains them on regular basis, along with her stand-alone titles as well.

Garnering praise for her work over the years as well, she is not without her fair share of critical acclaim either. With a whole host of good reviews to her name, she is respected by both her peers and contemporaries alike, all throughout her field. Not without commercial success either, she has built a worldwide audience on a global scale, both nationally and internationally.

With a clear and concise style she keeps her romance novels in the realms of reality, giving her readers something to easily relate to. This is accentuated further through her use of her own life experiences to build a deeper sense of realism within her narratives. It also gives her characters a more realistic backstory to work from, creating a more nuanced and balanced perspective to work from.

Ever since starting out she has come a long way as an author, with her style and tone having developed immensely over the course of her writing career. She also appears to have a lot more to come as well, with a lot more titles planned for future release on the horizon. Set to carry on for quite some time yet, it looks like her career as an author will grow from strength-to-strength.

The Christmas Secret

First brought out through the Tule publishing label, this was initially released on the 5th of November in 2015. Marking the seventh title in the ongoing ‘Secrets of Cherry Lake’ series, it manages to create a romance that is both engaging and intriguing. Whilst it may follow the rules of the genre on many levels, it also works at creating something unique and all of its own in the process.

Lil Reynolds is stuck in a log cabin, the last place she wanted to be, as a blizzard is going on just outside. Not only that, but Casey Lanigan has turned up, the brother of her recent ex-fiancée, someone she hoped to forget about following their secret romance a few summers ago. Now she’s stuck with him in the cabin on Christmas Eve of all nights and, adding to it, she may still have feelings for him. Will they be able to see this blizzard through? Can they ever make up? What will happen when they divulge the Christmas secret?

Cop on Loan

Originally brought out in 2008, this book was first released through the Harlequin SuperRomance publishing label. Later being brought out through Mills and Boon as well, this was the book that launched Jeannie Watt’s career as an author. Setting up her style and her tone, it is ideal for anybody looking to learn more about her development as an author and discover everything that she has to offer.

Tony DeMonte is getting more than he bargained for when he has to deal with the ever sharp librarian turned vigilante Jasmine Storm. Coming down from the big-city, he has to act as her bodyguard, something he didn’t think he’d ever be doing as a police-officer. That’s when she coaxes him into staying with her following a break-in and, despite his protestations about heading back to the city, she attempts to show him that being single isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Will she ever get her man? Can they catch the intruder? What will become of the cop on loan?
