Jeff Gunhus is a renowned American writer, who is famous for his thriller, children’s books, and horror genres of novels. He has written several mind blowing horror and thriller books series and many of them have achieved a tremendous amount of success. Some of the best works of author Gunhus include the Allison McNeil series, the Night Chill series, The Career series, and the Templar Chronicles series. The Templar Chronicles book series written by author Jeff Gunhus is comprised of a total of 6 books, which were released between the years 2012 and 2016. Each of the books consists of the chief protagonist in the role of Jack Templar. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Jack Templar, Monster Hunter’. The main characters of this book include Jack Templar, Cindy Adams, Aunt Sophie, etc. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Jack Templar is an orphan. His parents are dead and he does not have any memory of them. The only thing he remembers is a small description from Aunt Sophie about how his parents died. As his 14th birthday comes near, he experiences that things are beginning to change in his life. Firstly, he gains new strength all of a sudden, which he comes to know about after he saves his close friend from a bully.

Jack has a crush on Cindy Adams, who also notices the sudden changes in him. Later, Jack Templar meets a mysterious girl, Eva, who informs him about a couple of facts. Jack comes to know that he a descendent of monster hunters of a long running generation, and has to take up the role very soon. The second fact is that the monsters have found out everything about him and will attack him any moment. The monsters are collectively called Creach and they have a lord, who wishes to give Jack a slow & painful death. In order to prevent the monsters from attacking the human kind and saving his friends & close ones, Jack Templar is required to battle against harpies, zombies, werewolves, trolls, vampires, and many other kinds of creatures. And the most dangerous of all is his encounter with his past. Jack wonders why he was chosen to be the ‘One’, but accepts his destiny and proceeds to do what is expected from him.

Another interesting book of this horror/thriller series is called ‘Jack Templar & Lord of Vampires’. It was released in 2013. At the beginning of the story of this book, it is depicted that Jack Templar takes up the journey for tracking down & acquiring the first of the 5 mythical ‘Jerusalem Stones’. These stones are considered to be the power source and were found in the ancient times by Jack’s ancestors, known as the Templar Knights. If all the stones are found and reunited by Jack Templar, he can stop a Dark Lord named Ren Lucre from attacking the human world. Jack Templar’s father is held hostage by Ren Lucre, who has planned to use him as a leverage in the all out war. Each one of the stones is possessed by a different Lord of Creach. Jack knows it is not going to be an easy task for him to recover the stones. He seems well aware of all the dangers and in spite of that he begins the quest with his friends. Jack seeks out a terrifying and powerful adversary called the Lord of the Vampires. It appears quite clear that the fate of the humankind rests on the shoulders of Jack Templar, and he will face the toughest of the challenges on this dangerous journey.
