Jeffrey L. Kohanek is a young adult fantasy author and fantasy author from southern California. He is a huge lover of anything to do with magic, adventure, and fantasy, which are also elements that he loves to incorporate into his fiction.
He has variously asserted that he pens his fiction works which are full of constant intrigue, compelling characters, thrilling action, and spectacular magic to entertain his readers.

Kohanek believes that his works are Marvel Movies made into written works to provide a much-needed escape for readers.

The Minnesota-bred author published “The Buried Symbol,” his debut novel and the first of the “Runes of Issalia” series of novels in 2016. The author has now published more than 2 million words across at least half a dozen series of novels.
After spending his childhood in Minnesota where he read all manner of books that inspired fantasies of superpowers and heroes, he currently makes his home in Las Vegas.

He still makes use of his very developed imagination to come up with stories with fantastic plots and engaging characters. Jeffrey usually provides access to exclusive content and free books in his author newsletter on his website.

Right from when he was a kid, Jeffrey L. Kohanek had a desire to engage in the creative arts. He used to fulfill that need in a variety of ways that included home remodeling, drawing, and building things.
However, when it was time to go to college, he decided to play it safe as he studied engineering instead of taking creative writing.

Still, the one thing he always wished he could do was to write but it would not be until 2014 that he finally got the opportunity he always wanted.

Since his kids were just about to finish high school, he had a lot of spare time which he did not have before. This was the time he decided to put into use the several creative writing courses he had taken several years earlier.
Kohanek first considered himself an author when he received in the mail a contract for his debut work of fiction “The Buried Symbol.” The work would then be published by a medium-sized publishing house.

Having someone else see value in his writing is what flipped the switch in him and he believed he was now a writer. Now that he has become very successful, he quit his job to become a full-time author.

As a full-time author, Jeffrey L. Kohanek has quite a well-planned schedule. He usually gets up at sunup, eats his breakfast, and then catches up on the internet and media happenings for about an hour.

He will then get down to writing, only taking breaks to get in a workout in the early morning hours and to eat lunch before he is back on the grind. The late afternoon is when he usually does the business aspects of what is now a business.
This is the time he will craft his author newsletters, book promotional tours, manage ads and interact with fans. By late evening, he is usually tired and takes some time off to eat dinner and socialize with friends and family.
Whenever he can, he tries to squeeze in some time for playing video games, watching movies, and reading.
