Author Jenna Kernan was born in the Leatherstocking Region of Upstate New York, but she got a job offer that brought her down to the Hudson Valley, located north of New York City. Here, she lived and worked for thirty years, and she wrote whenever she had spare time. She left that job in the year 2015 in order to write full time.

For the most part, she likes being outdoors. If it is possible to do it outside, she tends to enjoy it. Except for golf, which is too frustrating and too organized; and skiing is just much too dangerous for her. She is a gold prospector, a rock hound, and a fossil hunter. Her best find is a bear tooth, a one carat blue sapphire she once found in Montana, and some nice nuggets.

Jenna pens heart-pounding adventure mixed in with heart-racing romance. All of her stories have heat, action, and adventure; whether they are dark paranormal, romantic suspense, Western historical.

Jenna writes the “Trail Blazers” series, the “Protectors at Heart” series, the “Trackers” series, and the “Apache Protectors” series, as well as some stand alone work. Her debut novel, “Outlaw Bride” was released in the year 2008.

Jenna has won the Book Buyers Best Award one time, and been nominated for two RITAs.

“Turner’s Woman” is the first novel in the “Trail Blazers” series. Jake Turner was a man full of secrets. Even a woman that he had saved from a Crow massacre was not able to be privy to his real mission. Emma Lancing was a woman of many surprises, blooming like a cactus during their tough trek through the Western wilderness. Brave, beautiful, and resourceful, she and she alone made him question the solitary life he was living by being the perfect partner for his adventurous soul.

Emma’s only escape from a hopeless and abusive future lay in putting her trust in a guy that made it clear she was not at all welcome in his world. Still, she was drawn to Jake’s independent spirit and his fearlessness. These things that stirred in her undreamt of passions and unrealized strengths.

Fans found this one to be a shocking, gripping, powerful, and dramatic story that shows a man’s journey across the entire country. Both Emma and Jake are complex characters that help in holding your attention the entire way through. They have some funny banter back and forth, and they grow through their experiences.

“Winter Woman” is the second novel in the “Trail Blazers” series. This novel stars Cordelia Channing and Thomas Nash. She prayed to have god allow her to die. However, Cordelia Channing, a preacher’s wife and widow, lived and was born again as Winter Woman, a woman of power that was able to survive the most lethal season in the mountains by herself.

Cordelia realized that she could never do it again. Perhaps there was not a need for it, for Providence had sent Thomas Nash to her. He is a mysterious Mountain Man that stirred deep places of her questing soul.

Nash was looking to come west in order to lose himself, rail at the fates that looked ready to ruin his life at each turn. Somehow those very same fates now decided to put Delia in his care. Though he fought it at every turn, Delia was transforming his life in ways that he believed he had forever lost.

The book takes readers away to the Rocky Mountains during the 1830s. The entire way is action packed and clever in all the right places. Delia and Thomas take readers on an awesome adventure that will leave them sad when it ends. In this one, even the land winds up being an unforgettable character.

“The Trapper” is the third novel in the “Trail Blazers” series. This novel stars Eleanor Hart and Troy Price. Eleanor Hart, a wealthy industrialist’s daughter, is an artist that longs to capture with paint the raw power of the disappearing West. In order to do so, she agrees to all of her dad’s conditions: He is going to fund the painting expedition if she agrees to marry the guy of his choosing when she comes back.

Troy Price, her guide as well as a rugged Cherokee trapper, is rather impressed by her pluck. On their journey, though, he transforms her longing for fame into a brand new yearning for adventure, freedom, and a forbidden passion.

Troy realizes that he is never going to find acceptance in the privileged world she lives in. Despite all reason, he just cannot resist loving her, knowing her dad as well as her promise to return, await.

Jenna Kernan delivers a well written novel with some realistic characters and an interesting story line. This is an enjoyable book where the spoiled female is not quite as spoiled as originally thought; she puts on her ‘big girl’ pants and is able to muster through. This is a tough one to put down, and a great page turner.

“Outlaw Bride” is the first stand alone novel, which was released in the year 2008. This novel stars Bridget Callaghan and Cole Ellis. Bridget Callaghan was up for doing anything in order to save her family, that was stranded in the Cascades. The only guy that could dare try a treacherous rescue mission was Cole Ellis, but there are some problems that come with that. Not only was he behind bars, but he was condemned to hang.

Bridget’s boldness to break him out of jail was the jolt that Cole needed to give his life some purpose once again. With a posse hot on their heels and the mountain coming upon them, she could not help but wonder if putting her trust in this life-hardened and tough guy was not the biggest danger of them all.

Fans found the romance between the two leads to be believable and they had some amazing chemistry. Bridget is full of spunk, and some found Cole to be quite delicious. The well written book hooks the reader in right from the start and moves quickly.
