Jennifer Bernard is a USA Today bestselling author from America who has successfully written a couple of novel series based on the romance and contemporary genres. She also likes to write novels in the humor and comedy genres. Jennifer completed her graduation from Harvard began working as a news promo producer. As followed by her family, she also preferred the romance novels over any other books. With a view of finding her true love, Jennifer left her hometown and moved to Alaska, where she lives now along with her husband and her stepdaughters. Apart from writing romance and comedy novels, she also likes to write erotic novellas under a naughty pen name which she prefers to keep secret. Jennifer has a passion for Ashtanga yoga exercises and practices it daily. In order to understand the yoga exercises in a better way, Jennifer has traveled to different countries like Hawaii, India and Thailand. She was successful to receive training from the best teachers in the field. Apart from that, Jennifer also likes to do meditation, hiking, eating hazelnut chocolates and spending quality time along with her husband and children.
Jennifer has said in her interviews that it took her some time to find her true love professionally as well as personally. Her childhood was full of chaos as she grew up in a family with four siblings. Her father was a professor while her mother was a poet by profession. They understood her love for reading and writing romance novels. She began reading romance novels from a very young age and her favorite authors included Victoria Holt, Elizabeth Phillips, Shakespeare, Nora Roberts and a few others as well. Jennifer graduated with a degree in Literature and History and wanted to majors in Creative Writing. She began working for the Macmillan Publishing in New York after her graduation. Jennifer had to write copies of encyclopedia updates. With a view of trying out something different, she began writing screenplays with the support of her college friend and from there on her quirky career took a new start. Jennifer relocated herself to the city and began to work as a promo writer. Growing in the field of promo producing went on to stay in Los Angeles for some time. It was in the year 2006 that she took to writing seriously. Shortly after understanding that writing romance novels was her true passion she moved to Alaska. Jennifer feels to be blessed to find her true love in real life too, as soon as she began writing novels based on romance. She joined the RWA to understand about the romance business. It was not before 2010 that she sold her first novel.
Jennifer Bernard has written a couple of novel series’ in her career, one of which is The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. The series is comprised of a total of 10 novels published between the years 2012 and 2014. The first novel of the series was published in the year 2012 by the Avon publishing house and was titled ‘The Firemen Who Loved Me’. The plot of the novel is set in San Gabriel, California, United States, and deals with the firemen of San Gabriel who were all single and news producer Melissa McGuire. The firemen were fearless, hot and handsome. They considered themselves heroes in their profession, but had a bad luck with their love life. This also true for Fire Captain Harry Brody and the news producer Melissa McGuire. However, the two of them have one thing in common as they agree on the point that they are completely wrong for each other. But, when Melissa’s grandmother wins a date for her in order to find a match for her at the Bachelor auction, Melissa is shocked to see Brody as her date. However, the two begin to develop feelings for each other. But, before they can come close to each other, they get trapped in difficult situations due to their works and begin to burn for the love of each other.
The second novel of The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel was published in the year 2012 by the Avon publishing house. The novel was titled ‘Hot for Fireman’ and depicted the romantic love story of the main characters Ryan Blake and Katie Dane. In the opening sequence of the novel, Ryan Blake is introduced as a suspended firefighter in San Gabriel. He had performed a daredevil act around one and a half years ago and was suspended for doing so as it nearly killed a person. After 18 months of being deprived of his job as a fighter, Ryan has once again returned to San Gabriel and is making desperate attempts to get back his job. The only way he could get his job back is by clearing a compulsory test. Hence he takes up a job at a local dive called the Hair of the Dog and begins to study and make preparations in order to pass the test and get recruited again for his job as a firefighter. However, Ryan Blake encounters the real test in the form of Katie Dane who is the bar manager of her family bar. After the death of her father due to a heart attack, Katie got the responsibility to take care of the family bar and make it run properly by managing every activity related to it. Since then, she has been stuck with the responsibilities of the bar as its manager. It becomes difficult for her to manage the bar properly as it begins to lose money rapidly. The insurance of the bar is also about to lapse. Katie Dane thinks of burning the place down and get millions of dollars by claiming accident insurance, as the only solution to her increasing problems. In her desperation to come out of her miserable life, Katie forgets that her new bartender Ryan Blake was actually a firefighter and posed a great threat to the plans of Katie Dane. It is to be seen in the further plot of the novel whether Katie and Ryan decide to get along with each other in spite of having opposite career backgrounds or whether they stay away from each other and ruin each other’s career. Whatever happens next is surely going to change their lives and make them realize the consequences of the steps they take.
