Jennifer Bohnet
Jennifer Bohnet is a member of the Society of Authors and Romantic Novelists’ Association.

Although originally from the West Country, she lives in the wilds of rural Brittany, France. She moved there with her husband Richard, with their fourteen year old dog Holly in a trailer attached to Richard’s bike. They cycled down through western France via the canal paths, and arrived in Antibes in July. Besides two fleeting visits back to the United Kingdom, they have lived in France since.

She enjoys writing about her two favorite places in the entire world: France and Dartmouth in South Devon.

Jennifer is allergic to gardening and housework when she isn’t writing, she loves cooking and entertaining her friends and family.

Jennifer has contributed serials and short stories to many of the UK women’s magazines like: Candis, The People’s Friend, My Weekly, Yours, Best, and her stories have been published in Ireland, Australia, South Africa, and Sweden.

She also pens magazine features and her work has been published in national newspapers and magazines like: The Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph, Devon Life, Daily Mail, and Home and Country.

Jennifer’s debut novel, called “Call of the Sea”, was released in the year 2006. Her work is from the romance genre.

“Rendezvous in Cannes” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2010. Two incredibly different women star in their own real-life dramas behind the scenes of the Cannes Film Festival.

Anna Carson, who is newly in love, goes back to the Festival for the first time in almost forty years with the hopes of reconciling her past with her present-day happiness. Daisy Harris, a journalist, looks for a big scoop at her very first Festival and is determined to embrace her new single status amongst all of this glamour and glitz.

Behind all the parties and champagne, secrets from the past bubble up to the surface and some tough choices have to be made. One thing is for sure, by the end of this Film Festival their lives are going to be changed forever.

Jennifer’s descriptions of the south of France are lovely, imaginative, and vivid, and goes a long way to bringing readers to France. In this beautiful place, the tale that unfolds is both heartbreaking yet inspiring. Anna is a magnificently well developed character with relatable qualities. This is a breezy and engaging read, and readers enjoyed following both of these women’s stories.

“A French Pirouette” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2015. Au revoir old life, Bonjour Brittany!

Suzette, a Parisian prima ballerina, knows that the time has come for her to hang up her pointe shoes before the next injury ruins her ankles forever. Dancing is all she has ever known and is terrified of who she is going to be after that last curtain falls.

At the same time, Libby the lonely Londoner, pours her life savings into buying an auberge that both she and her late husband enjoyed visiting on vacation. It is a huge risk that might possibly leave her broke, not to mention broken-hearted.

Then there is Brigitte that retired to the village for a slowed down pace of life, however, she dreads seeing somebody else run her beloved auberge.

Three fresh starts, and one unforgettable summer!

“A Year of Taking Chances” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2018. Tina and Jodie, best friends, make an intoxicated New Year’s vow to change both of their lives before turning the big 3-0, neither one could have expected to end the year with a lot more than just another hangover.

One year later, Jodie is now married and lives in Provence, while Tina is still exactly where she was last year (though her rent is now double). Tina cannot help but feel just a bit left behind, however, like Jodie reminds her, she isn’t thirty yet. There is still time for her to quit her job, start her own literary agency, and then sign the guy of her dreams!

Fans of the novel found this to be a delightful and gorgeous read about a pair of friends. Readers got lost in the story almost immediately after they started reading this one.

“Villa of Sun and Secrets” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2019. It is never too late to live your dream.

Carla Sullivan’s fiftieth birthday is rapidly approaching when her entire world gets turned upside down. Discovering her feckless husband is having an affair yet again and after her mom’s death, she needs some kind of escape. Finding one envelope that was addressed to Josette, her mom’s estranged sister, in the South of France gives her the perfect plan.

Carla, seizing the moment, packs her bags and heads off to the Antibes to find the enigma known as Tante Josette. While the two women start forging a tentative relationship, some family secrets begin unraveling, and it forces Carla to question her life as she has known it.

Readers found this to be an adorable book with some beautiful scenery, and two main characters that are both fantastic and likable people.

“A French Affair” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2020. What will be will be.

Belinda Marshall’s wonderful teenage life in Brittany, France, crumbled when her parents separated dramatically and her mom took her back to England. Fast forward 35 years when Belinda’s world is turned on end once more. It is the week before Christmas and Belinda’s employer ‘surprises’ her by asking for her to help rejuvenate their recent investment, the run-down campsite in Brittany.

Anxieties and memories that laid dormant for years start to resurface, all of a sudden. While secrets from a lost life threaten to overwhelm her, there is the realization that she possibly wasn’t told the entire truth by her mom all those years before.

Could Belinda reconcile her emotions and find some happiness once again in the place she so very love and once called her home?
