A popular book series written by author Jennifer Roberson is known as the Tiger and Del series. This series is comprised of a total of 7 books, which were released between the years 1986 and 2013. The German translation of the series is called Schwerttanzer-Zyklus series. Each and every novel of this exciting fiction and romance series features the lead characters in the form of Tiger & Del. The debut book of the series is entitled ‘Sword-Dancer’. It was released by the Daw Books publication in the year 1986.
At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Tiger was born from the desert winds and spent his life growing as a slave. He goes on to win his freedom by acquiring the skills of a great warrior and weaving special form of magic with it. Tiger becomes a legend and gets the name of a sword-dancer. He appears to be ready to face any challenge in life. The only thing he cares about before taking up any challenges is whether he is offered the right price or the woman is very pretty. Del is shown as having born from storm and ice. She receives training by great sword masters of North and becomes a skillful sword-fighter.
After the ritual training of Del gets completed and she becomes able to control her special magic, Del travels south to search for her younger brother, who was stolen from her five years ago. When Del faces the challenges of the real world, she realizes that she is not trained enough to master the unknown dangers. And when Tiger comes across Del for the first, he becomes intrigued by the challenge of facing a mysterious, magical sword-dancer from the northern region. With Del and Tiger coming together in one plot, the story undergoes many twists and turns. It depicts interesting events involving both the characters. The story goes on to have an interesting end, which the readers liked very much to read and enjoy.
Another mind blowing novel of this fantasy series is called ‘Sword-Maker’. It was also published by Daw Books in 1989. The primary characters described in this particular book include Tiger, Chosa Dei, Del, etc., and the story takes place in a fictional town called Ysaa-den. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Tiger becomes the greatest master of the sword skills of both North and South. He is sword sworn to track and hunt down the hoolies hounds. During his process of tracking down, Tiger seems haunted by Del’s memories, whom he misses very much. The trails that he follows during his search for the hounds lead him into Ysaa-den. Unknown to Tiger, the place is filled with deadlier perils than he can imagine. These perils pose much greater danger than the hounds.
While Ysaa-den, Tiger is hailed as the warrior who has come to put a stop to the forces that have been wreaking destruction and causing havoc on the innocent villagers. And the biggest of all the destructive forces is believed to be a dragon that they think possesses unimaginable strength. After a while, Tiger gets involved in trailing the dragon and the hounds, resulting in the intertwining of his desperate search. In order to halt the destructive forces completely and hunt the hounds all on his own, Tiger decides to climb a mountain located in a place called Dragon’s Lair. This decision comes after Tiger sees no other way of finishing the missions he has taken in his hand. At Dragon’s Lair, Tiger faces a huge challenge that might prove to be beyond the skills of a master of Southern & Northern sword-magic. In spite of knowing all the dangers, Tiger moves ahead with his plan and faces Chosa Dei’s challenge. Chosa Dei is believed to have the legacy of being a powerful force that can unmake all the forces that come to oppose him. Tiger engages in the challenge to test his skills and try to defeat Chosa Dei.

Just finished book 3 of Karavans. Since this is NOT a trilogy, will there ever be a fourth book? It does say that Dragon Moon is coming soon from DAW books, after all, and that was, what, ten years ago?
