Jenny Colgan is the highly renowned authors from Great Britain who likes to write her books based on the science fiction and romantic comedy fiction genres. She was born on September 14, 1972, in Prestwick, Ayrshire, Scotland, The United Kingdom. Author Jenny is popular for writing a few successful bakery shop novels.

She has written a couple of trilogy book series and the third book of the third trilogy series is also expected to be published very soon. Author Jenny is also famous for writing the line of Doctor Who stories. For writing the stories based on different genres, author Jenny uses a number of pen names such as Jane Beaton, J.T. Colgan, and Jenny T. Colgan.

Author Jenny completed her graduation from the Edinburgh University. Immediately after this, she joined the health services and continued to work in that field for a period of 6 years. In between her job schedules, she used to try her hand at drawing cartoons and working as a stand-up comedian. Author Jenny had not started her writing career.

When she met her future husband named Andrew, she decided to get married to him and settle down. The two became blessed with 3 children very soon after their marriage. Their children are named as Michael-Francis, Delphie, and Wallace. Author Jenny works as a professional marine engineer and supports her in whatever activities she likes to indulge in.

Currently, she tries to manage her time between London and France in relation to her professional and personal lives. It was in the year 2000 that author Jenny started her writing career. She wrote and published her first romantic comedy book titled as Amanda’s Wedding.

After its success, author Jenny continued to progress in her writing career as she published a few more books after that. In the year 2013, one of her books from the Rose Hopkins’ Sweet Shop series won the Novel of the Year Award in the category of he Best Romantic Novel, which was presented to her by the Association of Romantic Novelists.

In the month of July of 2012, author Jenny published a tie-in novel of Doctor Who under the pseudonym of J.T. Colgan. It was titled as Dark Horizons. Author Jenny spends most of her time living in France and makes frequent trips to London. Along with writing her contemporary and chick lit novels, she also writes for a newspaper called The Guardian occasionally.

Author Jenny even works for the development of a television series as a writer. One of the excellent and highly successful novel series written by author Jenny Colgan is known as the Little Beach Street Bakery series. This series is comprised of a total of 3 books, which were released between the years 2014 and 2016.

One of the interesting books of this series was published under the title of Summer at Little Beach Street Bakery’. It was published by the Sphere publication in the year 2015. In this book, author Jenny has described the lead characters as Polly Waterford, Huckle, and Selina.

They are depicted as living in a Cornish town called Mount Polbearne. At the start, author Jenny has shown that summer has just arrived at the door of the mount Polbearne town. This has made Polly Waterford very much happy.

The reason for her happiness is that she is in deep love with the lovely seaside town that she considers her home. She is also in love with the ongoing business of running her bakery shop on the Beach Street. Polly Waterford also has a real lover in her life in the form of her boyfriend named Huckle.

In spite of all these happiness in her life, there is something unusual about the gentle breeze of the summer that floats through the town and makes Polly worried. One of her friends named Selina has recently become a widow and she thinks of moving to the Mount Polbearne town so as to ease out her grief.

However, there is a secret in Polly’s heart that has the ability to destroy the fragile recovery of her friend if it comes out. Also, Huckle gets some added responsibilities on his shoulders, which he thought he had left behind.

Due to this, he begins to remain absent from Polly Waterford’s life for longer periods of time and this begins to make her feel difficult to cope with. In order to keep herself away from such troubling thoughts, Polly decides to keep herself busy with activities in her bakery shop, such as sifting flour, kneading the dough, and making bread.

However, she still feels that nothing could stop the storm that is about to enter into her life. A deadly fear covers her heart that makes her think that she is going to lose all that she loves and gives high importance in her life.

One more popular book released in the series by author Jenny is titled as ‘Little Beach Bakery’. It was also released by the Sphere publishers in the year 2014. This book is actually the first one to introduce the character of Polly Waterford.

The plot begins with the depiction of Polly Waterford as trying to overcome from the ruins of her recently broken relationship. She decides to move to the remotely located seaside resort town called Mount Polbearne.

There, she lives in a tiny and lonely flat located above a small bakery shop. In order to distract herself from the troubling thoughts, she indulges herself into her most favorite hobby, that is baking bread. Slowly, her diversion tactic turns into a passion and Polly begins to enjoy making bread.

She starts pouring more emotion into pounding and kneading, and it results in better loafs of bread every time. As she continues to progress with her new hobby cum business, Polly starts working with different recipes by adding seeds, nuts, chorizo, olives, and the local honey, that she gets from a handsome beekeeper living nearby.

Polly Waterford never knew before that she had such a creative and skillful mind. With the help of her determination, she continues to bake and bake and eventually, discovers that a new life rises in her which she had never expected. This book was highly appreciated by everyone, which helped author Jenny to become famous as romance and contemporary novelist.

The confidence that she gained from the success of this book helped her to develop a few more interesting books in her writing career. With the help of such novels, she continued to taste much more success in her life and career.

   Please please please can you say if there is to be a Mure book 7 . I have just finished An Island Wedding and really want to know what happens to Saif and his little family.

     I absolutely agree with this request for another Mure book concerning Saif and Lorna. This is unfinished and I want to know more. Love all the characters in this series. I first fell in love with your books through Polly and Little Beach Street, then loved the Sweetshop and Chocolate Shop and Book Store series as well. Did not love some of the free standing books so much. Too much “F” word for me. Thanks and hope to read more soon!

     I too have just finished An Island Wedding. I came to this site hoping there was a book 7. I have fallen in love with these characters and need to know the next steps in their stories.

   I’ve just finished reading Summer At The Little Beach Street Bakery for the 80th time because I like it so much. The part of the novel about that horrible storm scared me silly. We have blizzards here in Colorado. They can be deadly, too.
