Jerry Labriola
Jerry Labriola was born in May 17, 1931, and is an assistant professor, mystery writer, and physician.

After his first exposure to forensic medicine as he served in the US Navy, Dr. Jerry practiced medicine for more than 35 years and was Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut Medical School.

A former Chief of Staff at a major teaching hospital and a Yale graduate, he served as a Connecticut state senator and ran for the United States Senate and for the Governor of Connecticut.

Jerry is a mystery author and is the co-author with internationally renowned forensic scientist, Dr. Henry Lee, of a total of four books that focus on forensic science. In these books, they examine different well-known criminal cases, like O. J. Simpson, Scott Peterson, JonBenet Ramsey, Phil Spector, and JFK, as well as the abduction of Elizabeth Smart.

Jerry writes full-time, and he is past president of the Connecticut Authors Association, a member of the International Association of Crime Writers and the Mystery Writers of America.

Since he is an author and crime analyst, he lectures extensively on forensic science, true crime issues, and mystery. He has been a regular and worldwide lecturer on board ships such as: the Queen Victoria, Queen Mary 2, the Queen Elizabeth, the Silversea Cruise Line, the Emerald Princess, and the Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

Jerry’s debut novel, called “Murders At Hollings General”, was released in the year 1999, the first of the books that stars Dr. David Brooks.

“Deadly Politics” is a novel in the “Dr. David Brooks” series and was released in the year 2013. Twelve years since having last seen David Brooks, he has given up his medical practice, one that was restricted to making house calls for other physicians in favor of becoming one of the leading private investigators in the country, with a specialty in corruption.

Hollings General Hospital decides to become a research center, the consequences are both lethal and startling. He is persuaded to investigate the murder of Connecticut’s current governor. He was a guy without any political experience yet rose to the position with the financial contributions of many undesirables and aid from overseas characters like Juan Carlos Saltanban, a longtime foe. David faces much more than he first bargained for.

“Object of Betrayal” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2012. This novel starts off hauntingly with a tragic experience off in Viet Nam. Labeled as his secret, its memory plagues Matt Doyle, our naval hero, for many years to come.

Later on, while a civilian, he pens a manuscript that falls into the hands of the Mob, and pretty quick, he encounters an onslaught of some unexplained murders and shady characters. Even one monastery that’s governed by one sex-starved woman and is supported financially by one Hollywood capo that plays a key role in a plot that’s replete with unrelenting action and startling twists.

At the same time, Matt (while he tries to sort it all out), carries on a romance with a woman named Gloria Stram the manager of an inn that later gets burned to the ground. This is also viewed as having a link with the criminal underworld.

What is the secret behind the secret? Could there be others? And just where does Grimski the Giant fit into all of it? Or horse racing? Or the largest cathedral in Latin America, and the Algarve of Portugal?

This exhilarating novel has plenty of action that takes place at exotic locations, and these are real characters. This suspenseful storyline, punctuated by pieces of authentic history, and keeps the reader hanging on right until the stunning climax at the very end.

“Global Shadows” is a novel in the “Paul D’Arneau” series and was released in the year 2014. This focuses on the plight of Paul D’Arneau, who is an internationally known treasure hunter and former Yale professor who was dismissed from its faculty due to his interest in mythology.

Paul’s retained by Gens de Verite, an influential Parisian organization, in order to investigate the theft of a cabinet that contains stem cell research papers. However, he soon gets embroiled in skirmishes he never anticipated. Nor could he ever back away. The story line heads to Germany and its interest in creating a master race for Japan versus all mankind and its interest in ending the world entirely.

Paul and Sylvie Ranet (his live-in girlfriend) travel the limits of the globe: Argentina, France, Spain, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, St. Helena, and central Africa. They have to also must confront sudden and numerous developments. The include prostitutes, murders, and the intrigue of tropical rain forests, deserts, and savannas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Even Eva Peron’s legacy is examined.

This is one unforgettable mystery that is going to shape a reader’s interest in a relentless and tightening fashion.

“Diamonds and Pirates” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2015. A widespread cartel of piracy, prostitution, and Peronism underlies this tale of intrigue (which mainly takes place in Gibraltar, the United States, and Argentina), however spans the globe in its impact on the whole human race. Paul D’Arneau, a treasure hunter, has been hired to find a diamond box and to determine its relationship with such a cartel.

Rather unexpectedly, he finds he is in embroiled in attempting to prevent on Japanese-led sarin attack that would be able to destroy the world. The New Kamakazis, among others, are constantly right on his tail, which requires him to call on his many ways of warding off assailants, not the least of which is the Atemiwaza form of Jujitsu.

This absorbing suspense and mystery novel is full of educational content in connection with the back stories of its settings and the characters that live there. Its climax alone is just as unexpected as those characters are believable. The entire story is gripping page after page, and Jerry weaves a gripping and compelling novel with intriguing turns and twists that easily captivates the reader’s attention right from page one.
