About Jessica Redland

The British author Jessica Redland is well known for her erudite style and well paced romance novels which really capture the attention of the reader. Speaking in a manner that is direct and to-the-point, she really ensures that they’re kept reader with every single turn of the page. Knowing her audience inside-out, there’s a sense of authenticity to her work, all whilst ensuring that her stories remain entertaining. Creating compelling narratives, she understands perfectly what it is that’s expected from her work, while also remaining true to her own vision and outlook.

There’s a lot buried just underneath the surface of each of Redland’s stories, as she always has something to say as a writer. With charming stories and world-building too, her books really draw readers in, allowing them to immerse themselves in her worlds. From the characters to the settings, she really knows what it is that drives her books, as they brought to life upon the page. Providing a sense of escape, her stories remain grounded at the same time, letting them resonate with her audience on a deeper level.

Early and Personal Life

Born in Teesside in the United Kingdom, Jessica Redland would grow up with a keen interest in the written word. Developing this from an early age, she would continue with nurturing this passion on into her adult life, finding her voice all the while. Over time she would create a brand and approach that was very much her own, allowing her to become the writer she wanted to be.

Starting out as a writer back in 2003, she would heavily draw from the world around her, using her own life to inspire her work. This would also come through where she lived as well, also allowing this to feed into her writing and fiction too. Currently living on the North Yorkshire coast with her husband and daughter she continues to write, constantly looking for the next big idea, while allowing her surroundings to inspire her.

Writing Career

It would be 2015 when Jessica Redland would finally publish her first novel titled ‘New Beginnings At Seaside Blooms.’ This would see her produce a succession of books, many of which would go on to create several long-running series. These would include recurring themes and locations, as she’d largely draw from her own Yorkshire setting to help inspire her.

While many of her books would be labelled as romantic-comedies on the surface, Redland would seek to explore deeper ideas through her work. This has seen her produce several series set in around her home in Yorkshire, along with a collection of memorable characters too. Gaining a lot of recognition for her work, she has plenty more ideas planned in the pipeline, as she continues writing for some time to come.

Finding Hope at Lighthouse Cove

Initially brought out through Boldwood Books in 2016 on the 3rd of March, this would be the second book in the ‘Whitsborough Bay’ series. It would also be known as ‘Getting Over Gary,’ and it would feature another romance set in the same small-town as before. Many characters would return in cameos, whilst the location itself would be built upon, with Redland drawing from her own life for the setting.

Both funny and thoughtful, there’s a lot left lingering after this book’s been finished, with a lot of strong ideas present. The story itself is extremely well done, with a rich and engaging world that really brings the reader in, keeping them there. It’s characters really leave a strong impression too, as they feel wholly real and genuine upon the page, staying with the reader.

Looking to start a family after twelve years of marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Elise soon finds herself single after being married to Gary for so long. That’s when she’s asked to be bridesmaid to her best-friend Sarah’s wedding, and she looks to put the past behind her. It’s here that she meets the also recently divorced Daniel, and she’s instantly attracted to him, but just can’t shake off the past. Will she be able to trust once again? Is Daniel too good to be true? What will happen as she sees herself finding hope at Lighthouse Cove?

The Secret To Happiness

Once again coming out through the Boldwood Books imprint, this would originally be released in 2019 on the 3rd of September. Being the second title in the ‘All You Need Is Love’ series, it would also be set in Whitsborough Bay once more as well. Working as a romantic comedy on the surface, there are genuine moments of drama coupled with heartfelt warmth and humanity. It’s got plenty of unique and interesting surprises along the way that really help to keep the ready fully invested in the story. Clearly showing the power of friendship and the strength behind it when people come together, it’s a sincere and highly enjoyable title.

Finding her way to Whitsborough Bay, Daniella is hoping to escape from her own past, hiding a number of secrets and refusing friendship. Meanwhile, not seeming to take anything in life seriously, Alison is secretly not liking her relationship, as well as hating her body and has no family support. Then there’s Karen who’s looking to start her own fitness business, but she’s given up on romance, that is until she starts getting some anonymous texts. How will their friendship’s blossom after they all meet at nearby boot-camp? Can they really help each other? What will they find is the secret to happiness?

   I have read all your books Jessica. My favourites were the Hedgehog Hollow series. I wish the print could be a little bit bigger and bolder! But never find any errors so you have excellent proof readers! I really enjoy your characters and storylines and look forward to the next one out in May but the price seems to have rocketed for some reason?

   Have read at least one in every series of Books but just finished All you Need is Love. I totally identified with this book. I really loved it. Its the first one that made me cry.
