Jessie Newton
Jessie Newton, a USA Today bestselling author, is a saleswoman by day and escapes into women’s fiction and romance in the evening, typically with a bag of veggies and a dog close by.

Jessie also writes as Elana Johnson and Liz Isaacson, who are also both USA Today bestsellers, in the Christian & clean contemporary romance genres.

“The Lighthouse” is the first novel in the “Five Island Cove” series and was released in 2020. Joel Shields dies, and Robin Grover’s one goal is to get her four best friends back to Five Island Cove to celebrate the life of Kristen’s husband. She alone has remained in the cove as everybody else couldn’t wait to get away.

Alice Keller comes immediately, because her mansion in the Hamptons and her husband’s infidelity is smothering her. Not just that, however Kristen has always been like a mom to her, and she wants to support her.

Eloise Hall comes rather quickly as well, because she isn’t teaching at the university this summer, and she may as well visit her mom too, and the house that she secretly bought those years ago. Her first night on the island, she runs into this old high school crush, and this flame ignites that has not been there before.

However AJ Proctor and Kelli Thompson are more resistant, and while Alice, Eloise, Robin, and Alice uncover one secret after the next in the books, journals, and files in Joel’s office, Robin gets more determined to reunite each of them.

When AJ and Kellie do finally show up in the cove, the women are embroiled in secrets that the lighthouse has been hiding for decades now. Robin attempts to hold each of them together, however she breaks down too and admits that her perfect-on-the-outside life is not all that perfect.

While these five best friends work together in order to find out the truth, they have to learn to just let go of what does not matter and cling to the things that do: family, faith, and most of all, friendship.

This is a thought provoking book of relatable friendships, and Jessie giftedly reveals each woman’s current life and past, bringing them each to life in such a way which allows them closure and a new start.

“The Cottage on Nantucket” is the first novel in the “Nantucket Point” series and was released in 2021. Two sisters, after their mom dies, return to the cottage where they spent their summers growing up. Nantucket Point is exactly the same: warm, charming, and filled with memories both bad and good.

Tessa and Janey are cut from two totally different cloths, however they have managed to remain close over the years. Janey Forsythe, twice divorced and currently single, is on the brink of a major promotion at work. However, she needs money now in order to get some much needed home repairs done in order to sell her home. Tessa Simmons has always been the “good girl”, the sister that lives by the rules and has got the perfect suburban life. If only perfect didn’t have to be so boring.

When they arrive at the cottage after their mom’s death, they start down a road filled with the ghosts of their past. And when Tessa finds this letter addressed only to her in a locked desk drawer, the two sisters begin down a path which uncovers one secret after another and exposes them to danger at their Nantucket cottage. Amidst the new truths that they find, can Tessa and Janey redefine the bonds of sisterhood and friendship? Or are they going to lose everything just because the rift between the two of them is too wide?

“The Lighthouse Inn” is the second novel in the “Nantucket Point” series and was released in 2021. Sometimes forgiveness of the past is the only way forward.

Julia Harper, at the age of 46 and after she raised three boys, has learned recently that her husband no longer loves her and has just been waiting for the kids to become adults so that he could leave. Julia, hopeful, applies for the job of caretaker at The Lighthouse Inn on the island of Nantucket. What she does not yet know is that her half-sister lives only across the sand from the inn.

Recently, Janey Forsythe found out that her biological dad is Ryan Harper, who’s also Julia’s dad. When she sees the brunette unpacking and introduces herself, Janey realizes who she is, panics, and gets away as quickly as she can. She and Tessa, her sister, have stayed on Nantucket, hoping to build a new life for themselves after their dangerous summer cleaning their mother’s cottage out.

Madelynne Lancaster finds herself in a situation similar to Julia’s: recently divorced, with old money in her bank account yet nobody to spend it on. No spouse, no kids, no friends to speak of, since they all left with her politician ex-husband. Maddy, while bitter, also applies for the caretaker job at the inn.

The two women get paired together to start running the defunct inn, just the two of them knowing the bitter past which has separated them for more than thirty years. When they come face-to-face at the inn on Nantucket Point, Maddy and Julia are dumbstruck and horrified, as well as bound together by their contracted commitment and the obstacles from their pasts.

Julia finds this picture of her dad in this old scrapbook in the inn, she is terrified to see that he is standing with a pretty woman, who is not her mom. More pictures lead her to Tessa Simmons and the cottage across the sand, where she learns more about her half-sister, her dad, and that Riggs Friedman was never apprehended for his crimes over the summer, what his real name is, and that his sister still is missing after three decades.

All these lives tie back to The Lighthouse Inn, some secrets staying buried for decades now. Can Julia, Janey, Maddy, and Tessa make any sense of their complex friendships, overcome the past, and solve this mystery before they all get hurt?
