Jill Mansell's A-Z of Happiness (2014)Description / Buy at Amazon

Jill Mansell is one of Britain’s most accomplished authors. She has authored books which have had huge success not just in the United Kingdom but the world over. She has written many books which are of the romantic comedy genre. To prove her success, the writer has had over ten million copies of her books sold worldwide. She was raised in the Cotswolds UK and when she went to school, she attended Sir William Romney’s School in Telbury. Before she opted to be a full time writer in 1992, she worked as a clinical neuropsychologist at Burden Neurological Institute in Bristol. She worked in the medical field for close to 18 years. She is a family lady and lives with her partner and children in Bristol. She began writing when she was a child, she used to write a lot but she never imagined that one day she will be doing it for a living. She is inspired by the love she has for her readers since she cannot imagine failing to publish another book, that is what keeps her grounded.

Her authored works have been critically acclaimed and won her several honors. She continues to write as she has already 25 books and her 26th book titled ‘Three Amazing Things About You’ is set to be released later this month. She is among the most famous chick-lit authors in the world, chick-lit in the sense that she has written fiction books about women and they appeal to women of all ages. This goes along well with the romantic comedy angle that Jill Mansell has specialized in. Chick lit pieces such as the one she has excelled in tend to be personal and have a realistic touch to them, they are often thought provoking, fun and moving in terms of their plot and storylines. Her books have been prominent best sellers around the world. Some of her books include Rumour Has it, To the Moon and Back, Thinking of You, Making up Your Mind, The One you Really Want, Sheer Mischief, Kiss and Solo. All of them are fictional novels.

Her authoring prowess has made her be recognised as one of the top 20 British female writers of the 21st century. The recognition is in terms of sales that her books have garnered in the market, she was thought to be worth 14 million pounds since the year 2000. Her works are popular abroad as in 2011, the New York times ranked her book ‘Miranda’s Big Mistake’ eleventh in their best seller list. She has surprisingly, never toured the United States but her books get International acclaim from the Western power. In the year 2009, she unsurprisingly achieved two milestones, The Telegraph listed her as one of the bestselling authors of the decade and in the same year Jill Mansell’s novel ‘Rumour has it’ spent a total of two months in The Sunday Times hardback bestseller list and the paperback was ranked third in the bestselling list. In 2008, her novel ‘An Offer You Can’t Refuse’ maintained five weeks in The Sunday Times paperback charts. During the same year her book sales reached around 4 million copies globally. The novel ‘To the Moon and Back’ was nominated for the Contemporary Romantic Novel Award in the year 2012.

Apart from her well-received recognition she has won awards to show of her work. In 2011 her novel ‘Take A Chance On Me’ won the Romantic Comedy prize, an award which was issued by the Romantic Novels Association. The book was described as humorous and delightful as it scooped the award.

Her top rankings and respectable recognition have made her more popular and have earned her a lot of credibility, she has established a niche for herself and her audience keeps increasing. Her books have a wide range of characters that appeal from children to adults to senior citizens. As much as she is a great author in her own right, she enjoys reading other literary works with authors such as Marian Keyes, Nora Ephron and Sophie Kinsella listed among her favourites.

One of Jill Mansell’s most successful books is ‘Rumour has it’, the book describes a character named Tilly Cole who find a job in a small town but she discovers that the town is full of intrigue and she finds herself in the crosshairs when she finds herself involved with Jack Lucas, the town’s most eligible bachelor. The main characters of the book Jack and Tilly have opposite outlooks on life as it seems, with rumours that Jack lives an escape-laden life but the more they get to interact the rumors are disabused and Tilly finds herself in a dilemma, whether to believe what is being said about Jack or not, all the while Jack is not telling. The book’s main character Tilly Cole is described as a well-meaning everyday girl who want to be liked, is caught up in mortifying situations and is gets into complicated situations which are not easy to wriggle out from. Jack, the other main character is described as witty, attractive and discreet. The book is about what we all, go through in our lives at one stage of our lives, where you leave your old life behind and start afresh. As she says, she likes her books to be established and grounded on reality s much they are feel-good fiction works.

Fast Friends is her earliest book which was published in 1991. It is a book which is readable and still resonates with the current generation. It is about life on the fast lane. The plot is very intriguing and as is common with her novels the lead characters are female such as Camilla Stewart and Roz Vallender.

From her literary prowess and an uncanny ability for her books to be read by all and sundry, Jill Mansell is truly one of the greatest authors of our time. Her aforementioned new book set to be released on 15th of this month, without giving much away, it is expected to be a fictive novel which should be very interesting to read given it will be a follow up on the success of last year’s book ‘The Unpredictable Consequences of Love’ which was released in January 2014. She is a very consistent author and her fans do not have to wait long for her books to be released.

I cannot remember the title but I believe it is a Jill Mansell book where a man has a wife and daughter in one town and then he has a wife and son in another town. The son starts to suspect some thing and then he goes to see what he believes is his half-sister who is working at a café I think. Can you help me find this book?
