Jim DeFelice is an established author from America, who likes to write techno-thriller books, ebooks, and nonfiction novels. He is particularly famous for being a partner in the writing works alongside many authors such as Dale Brown, Richard Marcinko, Stephen Coonts, and Larry Bond. Author Jim is popular for writing several solo novels that feature the lead character Andy Fisher. Jim’s nonfiction books include crime books and a collaboration with Chris Kyle for American Sniper, who is the most deadly sniper in the US military history. Author Jim began his fiction work’s debut in the year 1992 with the release of the book called Coyote Bird. Andy Fisher is the chief protagonist created by author Jim in a book series of techno-thrillers. Jim has described Andy Fisher as a special agent, who works with the FBI. He is known to be a coffee swilling, hard driving, and chain smoking bad ass. Andy Fisher raises ire of the enemies as well as his superiors quite frequently. The books of Andy Fisher were started in 2003 with the publication of the book called Cyclops One. Author Jim has more than 50 novels of fiction & nonfiction together. Around 15 of them have made it to the bestseller lists of the New York Times. One of his books is Fighting Blind that describes the story of a blind soldier from Special Forces, marathon runner, and combat veteran named Ivan Castro. He is shown to be the only Green Beret to have been on active duty ever. This book was published in 2016 by St Martin Press.
In American Sniper, author Jim has given a detailed explanation of the service and life of a Navy SEAL named Chris Kyle. This book was labeled as the number 1 bestselling nonfiction titled in the whole of America during 2012 and 2013. A Hollywood movie based on this novel’s plot was made in 2015, which had Bradley Cooper in the role of Chris Kyle and Clint Eastwood as the director. The movie was extremely successful in most countries of the world and was nominated for as many as 6 Academy Awards. It even smashed the box office records and was on the run for a long time. Another popular book that author Jim wrote in his writing career is called American Wife. It was written in collaboration with the widow of Chris Kyle named Taya Kyle. Codename Johnny Walker is a 2014 thriller novel that was included in the NY Times bestseller list. This book gave voice to the real life Iraqi, who worked as a translator for the American forces and saved the lives of hundreds of people. The book was optioned for a film even before its publication. Currently, it is still under development. Jim’s most recent books have obtained starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and Kirkus. American Gun is a 2013 nonfiction novel that author Jim wrote as a ghostwriter. It has also received starred reviews. The collaboration of Jim and Dale Brown, Dreamland, has a total of 19 installments. This author pair continued their collaboration for the techno/spy-thriller series called Puppet Masters. Besides all these, author Jim has penned Omar Bradley’s biography. This 2011 critical biography of the Second World War General was selected to launch new historical works of the Regnery Publishing in 2011. The other people with whom Jim has collaborated include several bestselling writers and entertainment personalities. The current project of Jim is expected to be released in 2017.
The FBI Special Agent Andy Fisher series written by Jim DeFelice is comprised of 3 books in total, which were released between the years 2003 and 2012. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Cyclops One’. It was released by the Pocket Star publication in the year 2003. At the start of this book, it is shown that the Cyclops One is the most advanced laser system of America. This airborne system is capable of destroying several dozens of warplanes and missiles from a distance of 300 miles. The newly developed laser system is expected to change the combat’s face forever. However, before the American military can use the system for becoming a super-power, the plane that was carrying it disappears in a huge storm near the Canadian Rockies. Immediately, the top investigators of America are called to work on this case as the Americans fear a sabotage specter or something even worse looming over the operation. The best in the entire team is Andy Fisher. This special agent is known to use unorthodox techniques and irreverent manner and has gained a lot of reputation because of them. The deeper Andy investigates, the more questions come out regarding the laser as well as the private agency which developed it. Andy also comes to know about the real motives of the ones involved in the operation. He fears that this conspiracy might end with the initiation of the Third World War.
Another exciting thriller novel of the series is called ‘Threat Level Black’. The Pocket Books publication released this book also in 2005. Author Jim has set the story of this novel in the United States and North Korea. At the beginning of the book’s plot, it is depicted that the scientists in North Korea have created a new weapon called as the ‘E’ bomb. The specialty of this book is that it can render any electronic system useless within a 10 mile radius. When Andy Fisher learns about this weapon, he doesn’t seem sure about the existence of such a weapon. Later, a claim is made by a terrorist group about acquiring the E bomb, along with the dangerous Sarin gas. This deadly combination could bring about a greater devastation. And the truth about this claim is learned by Andy Fisher, he does not willing to take even a single chance. The threat seems quite immediate than what is suspected by Fisher. Soon, the intelligence comes to know that the terrorists’ team has already proceeded towards their objective. This puts millions of people’s lives at risk. Even the free world’s leadership seems to be hanging in the balance. The truth about the threat gets confirmed by the intelligence department, Andy Fisher races against time to prevent the nightmarish plague from getting unleashed and killing numerous innocent people of the world.
