J.J. Marsh is a successful published author. Her first name is Jill.

When Jill was younger, she was very interested in books. She read so much that she even was kicked out of the school library. But that was not enough to keep her away from reading and she kept her passion for words.

Jill would go on to attend The University of Wales and graduated with her degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies. Once she had graduated from school, she set up her own theatre company. Jill has since served as a writer, actor, teacher, director and journalist, and has taken her work abroad visiting fifteen countries and picking up something from each country she has visited.

Jill is now married and shares three dogs along with her husband. They live in Switzerland, a place that uses four languages and where there are always plenty of new words to be learned. Jill also works as a language trainer, going all over Europe in collaboration with Triskele Books and Nuance Words. She also is a regular contributor to JAM magazine. Jill also spends a lot of her time writing and also reading.

J.J. has written the Beatrice Stubbs books, a crime series set in different locations all over Europe. She is also the creator and the author of The Run and Hide series. She has also contributed to the collection Appearances Greeting a Point of View and written several standalone fictional novels.

The author may have grown up in the Middle East, Africa, and Wales, but she has finally settled down in Switzerland for now. It was growing up in these different places that she first became curious about culture and it made her want to write. Now she pens literary fiction and crime stories that keep her readers interested with all of her characters and cool stories!

Her series featuring Beatrice Stubbs was also on top of the best sellers list for Amazon in the category of International Mystery & Crime in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. The series has also been featured in The Bookseller’s Editor’s Choice and The Guardian Readers’ Recommend. Marsh also serves as Swiss Ambassador for The Alliance of Independent Authors. She serves as co-editor of literary e-zine and writer’s workshop The Woolf in Zurich and is a reviewer for Bookmuse. She gets some of her best writing done in her own attic that sees over a cemetery.

Behind Closed Doors is the first book in the DI Beatrice Stubbs series of fictional novels by J.J. Marsh. The debut novel came out for readers to first enjoy in 2012. Check it out and see what you think!

Everyone knows that when you take your own life it’s suicide, and when you take the life of another, it’s homicide. When four different cases first pop up, it appears that they are just separate incidents. In one, a banker with questionable ethics ends up suffocating. A magnate of media ends up dying out in the snow, frozen. A dealer of diamonds ends up slashing his wrists, and a CEO who has since entered into disgrace ends up taking exhaust fumes until he passes. These were four businessmen who had reason to had enemies, and they all seemed like separate suicides. But then Interpol looks at the scenes and finds that each death shares similar DNA.

Main character Beatrice Stubbs has not handled a case since the incident occurred, and this is her first real one in a while. She’s gone to Switzerland to head up the investigation, and is about to find out that Zurich has a lot more to offer than just charming things and chocolate.

There are also a lot of suspects everywhere you look, and the counterpart she is supposed to be working with in Switzerland is very Swiss and very hostile. Then there’s the international finance world there, a place that seems entirely operating on its own without the law affecting it.

Beatrice not only has the case to consider, but her own demons. She’s trying to do whatever she can to get down to the bottom of this case during the day, but little does she know that there is somewhere out there who is watching. The type of person who believes in poetic justice. Could this be a help to the case or a hindrance? Grab a copy of the first book in this series to find out!

Raw Material is the second book in the DI Beatrice Stubbs series of novels by J.J. Marsh. This book first came out in 2012. If you loved all the mysterious action of the first book, be sure to check out the exciting second installment in this series!

It’s the weekend, and there’s a bank holiday. Main character Beatrice Stubbs is back and is taking some photographs at a beach in Wales as the sun rises. Little does she suspect that there is going to be more to the scene than just the birds flying and the cliffs. While she is busy thinking about other things, there’s someone out there that wants nothing more than to see those pictures destroyed.

Beatrice has been assigned to work with the London Transport Police. This time she’s after a suspect called the Finsbury Park Flasher, trying to get him before another sexual offense occurs. Beatrice is distracted and while this is happening, her neighbor Adrian and partner Matthew decide that they want to have a hand at playing detective as well and look into the mystery of where the photographs have gone.

But when it comes to taking on cases, detectives that are amateur in nature tangling with criminals that do this for a living is a mix that you just don’t want. From beaches to London to the countryside of Ireland, Beatrice is about to find out that human nature can end up going some dark places. Can she nab her culprit or will things develop into something far more sinister? Read this novel to find out!
