Joanna Mazurkiewicz is a science fiction, romance, paranormal romance, and fantasy author whose works have been bestselling titles on USA Today. She got interested in authorship once she read the “Harry Potter” series even though she had read novels such as “The Doll,” “Animal Farm,” and “Gone with the Wind” before then. As a teen, she graduated with a degree in American Studies from Swansea University and it was while she was studying in the UK that she decided to start writing fiction novels. In 2012, she wrote “Whispers of Sprite,” the first novel of the “Whispers” series of novels. With the novel becoming a bestselling title, she was motivated and has never looked back since. Joanna now has more than forty novels in fourteen series of novels alongside several single standing novels, contributions to two series, and a collection of short stories. She currently lives in with her boyfriend Bruce and her two children in Hayes Point, Sully, a small town near Cardiff. When she is not writing her novels, she loves to walk around on the beach and cycling the Welsh countryside. Some of the scenes she loves walking in make the settings in her novels.

Mazurkiewicz was born in Poland and moved to the United Kingdom as a nineteen-year-old. However, she has been studying English for a long time even though she still struggled to adapt to writing and reading in the language. Even as she has made her name as a fiction author writing in English, she still makes mistakes here and there and rigorously tweaks and edits her manuscripts before she shows them to anyone. After she has done that, she hands over the draft to beta readers or editors. They all help to pick up any inconsistencies and errors, and help to polish the language. Sometimes, it can be hard to write since she for the most part still thinks in Polish. Joanna always fancied herself a fantasy author but after several failures, she thought she should try something different. She sat down and penned the story of Margolcia and Karolcia, two naughty girls who had some very crazy adventures with their father. It was the first story she ever finished and it got a lot of praise from her teacher who still has it on her computer. As a student in school, she never had a love for literature as a subject despite wanting to become an author. As such, her grades were never any good even though she spent a lot of time studying in the library. Things changed when she went to college and started becoming interested in her lessons and the literature curriculum. She even started writing for the school paper and came to like it.

Joanna Mazurkiewicz has always been a sucker for romance and most of her novels involve people falling deeply in love. Growing up and even as an adult, she loved romance novels and romantic comedies and would spend hours in the library finding heart-wrenching gems. She has said that she loves seeing the progression of the relationship between two people, while trying to figure out what she can throw in front of them to see just how strong their love is. Nonetheless, she not only writes romance as she has penned erotica, contemporary romances, contemporary paranormal, and fantasy novels. Her fascination with erotica came when she read “Fifty Shades of Grey” and thought she could write something similar. Taking the pseudonym Josie Marks, she has written an erotic romance series of novels and a short novella that are steamy and raw just like her inspiration.

“The Whispers of the Sprite” by Joanna Mazurkiewicz is the thrilling story of Ania. She has just moved to Swansea from London and hopes that she will have more excitement in her life. She has just gotten herself free from a controlling mother and will now get a chance to be more independent and have more freedom. Everything seemed fine until she almost dies taking a late evening beach walk. When she comes to, everything seems weird as she sees things no one else can. She is getting stalked by an enchanted man and this seems to be more excitement than she had asked for. After she was attacked, she had developed the amazing gift of hearing and seeing sprites walking all around her. What had previously existed in the legends, myths, and folklore of Britain has become very real for her. Gabriel is a handsome and attractive being but he is not a vampire. Ania feels an instant connection with him and the more he comes to see her, the more she is drawn into his spell. But supernatural romance should be the last thing on her mind as it could get her into a lot of trouble. He has been forbidden to love her let alone touch her, but he cannot stop coming to see her and whispering to her.

Joanna Mazurkiewicz’s “The Dark Night Whispers” opens with Ania depressed but hoping to get better. She has spent much of the summer thinking of Gabriel who straddles the land between the living and the dead. But when his best friend Adam comes to her and tells her that there is a way to get to Gabriel, she refuses as she does not wish to relive the pain she had gone through. Ania’s heart had been torn out of her chest and she does not want to go through that again. She has decided to go back to college in Swansea only to end up entangled in the dangerous and new world of Sprites. Her year seems to be just as bad as the one she was running away from home and this is made worse by the fact that Gabriel will die forever if she cannot find an antidote for the “Iron curse.” Ania is juggling the investigation of the kidnap of a young girl who was working for the “America for the University” paper, even as she still has to keep up with her studies. She also has to fight the increasing attraction for the Sprite that had come into her life seemingly out of nowhere. Ania gets even more confused by the well-known fairy tales she keeps finding in her pockets. She cannot make any sense for her until she decides to follow her emotions.

“Her Secret Whispers” opens to Niamh McDonals waking up in a dark cave imprisoned so far from home. She does not expect rescue given that she does not think anyone knows where she is. She does not know who captured her as she has been kept in the darkness. Niamh is devastated to learn that she had been adopted and that her California family has been lying to her all this time. When she gets back to California, she is still dealing with the trauma and shock of the ordeal but the lies she has been told are never far away from her thoughts. And then she gets an unexpected visit from a stranger who informs her that she is not even human. The information has her traveling back to Wales where she believes she was born. She now needs to find answers to what she is given that she can see Sprites which she has been informed could have existed for hundreds of years. But she also needs to learn the nature of the connection to the scrawny Russian girl named Ania that had helped her break out of her prison cave.
