Joelle Charbonneau is an author that has always been interested in telling stories.

At the age of thirty, she finally got the inspiration to sit down and write, and it has been full steam ahead ever since that day. Now she is published in print! She says that the most difficult part of writing a book is writing the middle of it.

An American writer of mysteries, she’s also followed her love of musical theater and opera in life, particularly early years. She also enjoys giving voice lessons. She also channels her experience from performing and being in drama to further inform her writing and help her to create intriguing characters and plot lines.

She always loved reading when she was growing up but has to admit that she never was the one to dream about being a professional author. She admits that she was more of a theater and musical person, so much so that Joelle even pursued it for higher education. She studied music and theater and received her Masters degree in Opera.

Ever since she started, this talented writer has written a variety of fictional novels and several series. If you love works from popular mystery writers, you’ll enjoy reading one of her many fun books! Be sure to check out The Tester and Need, both of which are currently slated for development.

Charbonneau is the creator and author of the Rebecca Robbins series. The series kicked off in 2010 with the debut of the first book. It was quickly followed by a sequel and the third and the fourth book round out this series and give readers the option to continue this saga if they want to!

Skating Around the Law is the exciting first story in the Rebecca series by talented writer Joelle Charbonneau. When it comes to plans, Rebecca Robbins has one. She wants nothing more than to unload the roller rink that she got from her mother.

That will allow her to move back to the city of Chicago and finally be back where she belongs. Rebecca cannot wait to get out fast, but things have a way of getting in the way of your carefully laid plans. She quickly runs into a pickle when she finds a dead body– totally unexpectedly, of course.

It’s already not the best thing to find a dead body, but this discovery is made doubly bad by the fact that she found it in the toilet at her rink. That’s not going to look good. The victim is the town’s handyman, and the news of his death quickly spreads. As a result, any chance of finding a buyer is going to be tough at the price that she wants.

Just like that, Rebecca finds herself far from her goal of Chicago. Now that she’s temporarily stranded in a small town, she knows that she’s out of place. She’s also living with her grandfather and knows that the local police don’t really have that many crimes to deal with. The odds of them solving this crime or tracking down the person that did this are very low.

With no faith that the local law will be able to figure out what happened, Rebecca has to put her own mind to the task if she truly wants to get rid of the rink and get the cash as a result. She decides that she’s going to have to investigate the entire thing herself.

She’s not alone as her grandfather has offered to help her and connect her with all of the people around that he knows. This is everyone from an animal vet to a camel. You would think it’s a good thing that someone’s attempting to track down a killer, but someone out there is less than thrilled that Rebecca is on the hunt.

As she starts getting threatening messages, this young woman is going to have to figure out just how much she wants to solve this murder. Can she track down who did it and maybe find a buyer for the rink? You’re going to have to find out yourself by picking up this book and reading this engaging mystery all the way to the end.

Skating Over the Line is the compelling sequel in the Rebecca series by author Joelle Charbonneau. Readers and fans of the first book will be happy to see the return of a main character that has suddenly found herself in the part-time position of amateur detective.

Rebecca wants nothing more than to get out of Indian Falls and find a buyer for the rollerskating rink that she received from her mother. A murder happened to throw a shadow on the concept of purchase for many people, but now the dust has sort of settled on all of that.

She’s hoping to get back to Chicago quicker than ever and a potential buyer is making the whole thing look extremely promising. She wants to get out more than ever because her father has somehow found his way back into town. Now it’s the last place that she wants to be.

Rebecca’s boyfriend ended up being that vet named Lionel. His advice is to try and stay put and see the sale of the rink through despite what her father does. As for what is truly going to work out as the best move, that remains to be seen.

She has another reason to stick around in town when she finds a new gig. The people at the local senior center want Rebecca to help them out. The case is to find a car thief who has been targeting classic cars and driving them away after wiring the cars.

She can’t turn a good case down but when the deputy of the local Sheriff’s office says he might arrest her for getting in the way of justice and she gets threats, can she leave the case behind? With cars blowing up and her father missing, Rebecca has to find the thief and solve this case once and for all. What will happen? Read this fun sequel to find out!
