John David Mann is a full-time author with more than 30 books to his name that include five national bestsellers and four New York Times bestsellers in addition to winning numerous awards.
He is also a journalist and businessman who once was very successful as a prize-winning composer and concert cellist.

At just fifteen years old, he was the winner of the Student Composers BMI Awards. When he went to New York to receive the award, he met music luminaries such as Leopold Stokowski and William Schumann who further developed his interest.
He would then apprentice under Dr. Alfred Man his father who was a choral conductor. While he was being mentored by his father, he interacted and learned from some of the greatest classical figures such as Leonard Bernstein and Robert Shaw.
Over the years, his compositions were performed across the United States with some even being produced in Greece.

When John David was seventeen, he started a high school alongside several of his friends in New Jersey. While it was a unique undertaking, Changes, Inc. successfully placed several students in Ivy League colleges such as Yale and Harvard.
Following graduation, he would become a member of the school’s faculty and over the years, he has taught kids in the poorer neighborhoods of Philadelphia, farms in Indiana, and the affluent suburbs of Boston.

While he never intended to go into business, it seems it was just destiny as he would go on to found two publishing companies, a school, a graphic design business, and a food distribution business.

In 1986, he was the writer and founder of a journal on nutrition health and environmental issues known as Solstice.

In 1992, he was part of the team involved in the writing of John Milton Fogg’s “The Greatest Networker in the World,” which became an underground bestseller and a definite book in its industry.

He is also the founder of a sales organization that had more than 100,000 people in its employ. Given his profile, he is also a well-sought-after speaker who has addressed audiences numbering in the thousands.

John is also an award-winning author whose works have won many prestigious awards over the years. Some of the awards he has won include Taiwan’s Golden Book Award for Innovation, the Nautilus Award, and the Axiom Business Book Award.
“The Go-Giver,” which is his most popular work has won several awards including the 2017 Evergreen Medal from the Living Now Book Awards for its contribution to positive global change.

It was also featured on the “8 Books Every Young Leader Should Read” in Forbes Magazine and on the “10 Books Every Leader Should Read” in Entrepreneur Magazine.

“Steel Fear” his debut novel that came out in 2021 was hailed as an instant classic by none other than Lee Child. His works have been published in at least 38 languages and have gone on to sell more than 3 million copies.
He has also written for publications such as Wired, American Executive, Strategy and Leadership, CNBC, Master Salesmanship, Crimereads, and Leadership Excellence among others.

He is married to his coauthor of the work “The Go-Giver Marriage” Ana Gabriel Man.

“The Go-Giver” teaches you how to become successful in different facets of life which the authors say is best done through becoming a go-giver as opposed to the commonly pushed idea of being a go-getter.
In a series of principles that may seem unrealistic, he proclaims the value of putting others first and being authentic, as some of the most effective ways of achieving success.

Mann’s book tells the story of Joe, an ambitious young man who will do anything for success. He starts out being a go-getter who works hard to achieve his goals but nothing seems to work.

Frustrated and almost giving up, he asks for help from Pindar an enigmatic man and legendary consultant. The man introduces him to a bunch of go-givers including a real estate broker, a restaurateur, a financial adviser, a CEO, and “the Connector.”
It is from these that he learns the five laws of stratospheric success which include: the law of value, the law of compensation, the law of influence, the law of authenticity, and the law of reciprocity.
He learns that it is from becoming less selfish and more giving, that one can expect to have tremendous returns from their efforts.

“The Slight Edge” by John David Mann is a comprehensive study of the behaviors and habits that often result in successful people.

Mann believes that the difference between people is that some have knowledge while the best have knowledge that they know what to do with.

He asserts that the best mentality is all about persisting until one achieves success instead of the desire for dramatic and rapid change which is only true in the movies.
In another vein he asserts that many people will also postpone and procrastinate waiting for appropriate conditions which are just a mirage.

According to Mann, the difference between the unsuccessful and those who become successful is the keen awareness of the journey toward becoming successful as not a sprint but a marathon.
The secret to success as the author says is to develop an attitude of continuity and immediacy so that we do not fall into the trap of postponement and procrastination.

By always working toward achieving small successes that lead toward an overarching bigger goal, we can form habits that over time will result in monumental success.

“The Latte Factor” is a work in which the author suggests that people can attain all their financial dreams by following several rules.

Similar to many professionals, Zoey the lead in the story at the center of the work is finding it hard to make ends meet and has a growing burden of student loans and credit card debt.
Zoey is working her dream job but the hours are crazy and the financial compensation she gets is barely enough to make ends meet.

At some point, her boss suggests she talk to an elderly barista at her favorite coffee shop in Brooklyn. Henry the elderly barista reveals to her the three secrets to achieve financial freedom which Zoe initially dismisses.
But over a week she looks into the advice and realizes that she has enough to realize her biggest dreams and secure her financial future. All she needs to do is make a few changes to her everyday routine.
