Focusing on the military and specifically the subject of military intelligence for a lot of his fiction, Jonathan Dyer has a lot of novels set within the genre of espionage. Creating taut suspense filled thrillers, he’s managed to craft tightly knit and complex stories that are still easy to follow and extremely accessible. The main example of this can be found in his Nick Temple novels which involve the eponymous CIA agent of the same name, as he attempts to keep the world safe, whilst it’s set primarily in the sixties.

With America distracted by the threat of the Cuban missile crisis it seems that Temple is on his own with a small team of specialist, as they attempt to put a stop to the nefarious plan. Will they be able to prevent the attack from taking place? Can Temple save America? What will happen in the silent vector?

Stepping up to the task is one Chet Brinker, a CIA agent who comes across their plan and realises that he must put a stop to it. Is there going to be enough time to save the world? Can he find the Holy Lance?
