Joseph Flynn is a well-known author and an accomplished writer who has written a lot of books and novels in genres like Thriller, Mystery and Humor. He is famous for his books ‘The Presidents’s Henchman’, ‘Nailed’, ‘Round Robin’, ‘The Next President’ and so on. He has been praised for his work as a writer and has often been reviewed as an excellent storyteller. He has published books traditionally as well as in his own imprints. Joseph was born and brought up in Chicago. United States. He completed his education from Chicago, but never stayed there once he started writing. Because of the unbearable winters of Chicago, he used to keep moving in search of a warmer place. He lived in places like Los Angeles and Honolulu. He was very fond of the weather of these places and enjoyed writing under the shade of palm trees besides the blue oceans.

Being raised in the shadow of Wrigley field in Chicago, Joseph Flynn was one of the true fans of the White Sox in his neighborhood. He attended a number of schools such as St. Mary of the Lake School, Francis W. Parker School, Northeastern Illinois University and Loyola University. He started as a writer for for an ad agency. He used to write copies for print ads, TV spots and radio commercials. He made some good creative partners there and used to work in tandem with all the support staff, directors, photographers, actors, voice artist to get the work done and made sure the products there were promoting reached good amount buyers. Later, he became a novelist and started writing novels from his home itself. He had the support of his wife Catherine, who also had similar talents and skills. He has a publishing company of his own, ‘Stay Dog Press, Inc.’ His writings are generally sold online and receive good reviews from the enthusiastic readers. He is also a continuous blogger since 2009 and has a lot of followers.

Joseph Flynn generally promotes his novels on Amazon and has written about 20 novels till now, all of which have received good ratings. He started by enrolling his novel ‘Nailed’ in Amazon select and also scheduled a free promotion from Amazon for a short duration along with a BookBub paid ad. BookBub used to send email ads to unknown fans who used to download his novels if they liked the ad. Likewise, about 58,000 copies his novel were downloaded and ‘Nailed’ went on to become No. 1 on the Amazon’s list of top 100 in the Mystery and Thriller category. This way he started promoting his writings on the internet and it fetched him a good amount of name and fame.

The mysterious plot of the novel ‘The Next President’ shows the character J.D Cade who was a trained assassin. He used to kill people without leaving behind any proof of his crime. He used to do his duty and thought no one knew about it. But someone knows about his killings and blackmails him to use his skills for killing the about to become President of the United States. Even though he swore not to do any more killings, he is forced to do so as his son is held captive by the blackmailer. J. D Cade is asked to kill Franklin Delano Rawley, the first African-American who is going to become the president of the United States. J.D finds it very difficult to kill the next president Rawley, but realizes that he must do it to save his son’s life. He tries to find the man behind the conspiracy and mysteriously saves his son and the president, which could have otherwise changed the fate of the nation.

The novel received 4 stars on an average and was declared a hit among its readers. People described it to be full of twists and turns and a very well-written, timely thriller. Others described it as a right mix of pressure and release suspenseful plot and full of potent flexible force. Another famous novel written by Joseph Flynn is ‘Nailed’ which actually started the online selling of his writings. The novel shows the life experience of a Los Angeles police officer, Ron Ketchum. He saw the dark side of his life being a cop and later went to Sierra Nevada resort town of Goldstrike to become the chief of police. One fine morning, he encounters a crime that he has never witnessed before in his life. He finds the dead body an African-American man nailed to a tree. The man was a highly respected minister and son of Jimmy Thunder who is a nationally known televangelist. Clay Steadman is the mayor for life of Goldstrike and a well-known movie icon. He asks Rob to catch the killer as soon as possible. The victim’s grandmother on reaching the town, tells that the town of Goldstrike will witness the curse of God if the killer is not punished. This causes an added pressure on Rob Ketchum.

As said by the victim’s grandmother, Goldstrike starts witnessing the curse of God. A rogue lion from the mountains, enters the town and starts hunting down people. It starts attacking the people of Goldstrike creates havoc in the city. A hunter which sent to hunt the lion is also killed by the predator. All this makes Rob feel like the good old days of being a cop. He already had the burden of finding the killer and the rogue lion adds to his tension and makes his job more complicated. Rob has to defend his integrity by solving the case and hunting down the lion. He strives very hard, but finally triumphs in his attempt to track down the killer. A sequel to this novel was also written by Joseph Flynn and was named ‘Defiled’. Amazon.com described it as another well-written story with interesting ups and downs. Readers also described it as really enjoyable to read and full of suspense.

A lot of movies were made which were similar to the plots in the novels of Joseph Flynn. Few similarities can be seen related to the mystery and suspense, but a complete movie based on his novels is yet to be made. There might be talks going on and we might see a movie or two in the near future. Joseph Flynn’s writings are a treat to read and show the power of his imagination and art in the form of interesting stories. All his novels are highly rated and very well reviewed by the readers.

   Just finished reading a hard cover copy of “Digger.” Loved the Viet Nam War vets. Your accuracy about veterans had me after the 1st chapter. I am a retired VA psych nurse, and saw the effects of war on veterans on a daily basis.
