Joseph Lallo is one of the reputed authors from The United States, who is famous for writing books based on the science fiction and fantasy genres. He is particularly well known for writing the Book of Deacon series. This success of this series helped author Lallo to establish himself as a noteworthy author of the science fiction genre. After this, he tried his hand at writing a couple of other novel series. Author Lallo is a native and resident of Bayonne, New Jersey, United States. He considers himself to have entered the literature world in an unlikely manner. Lallo spent all his childhood reading books and daydreaming. He had the intention of pursuing a career in the technical field. Author Lallo even obtained a Master’s degree from the NJIT in the Computer Engineering branch. Subsequently, he started working for a big healthcare company, in its IT department. Things began to change in better ways in 2010 when he was convinced by his friends to publish a story that he was writing for a long time in his spare time. Lallo had completed the story, but was feeling reluctant to take it to a publisher. But, when his friends pushed him to do so, he finally agreed. The story turned out to be a surprise hit after its publication. Author Lallo experienced a taste of indie writing’s successful world because of this success and it made him get hooked to it. Eventually, he left his IT job and began writing full time. As of now, author Lallo divides his time to write science fiction books as well as reviews and articles for a group blog that he helps to maintain along with a couple of his friends. In this blog, Lallo usually posts random editorials and rants related to the world of entertainment, technology, and humor. Whenever he is not writing, he can be seen with his friends trying to make the blog look even better. A successful writing career enabled author Lallo to build a house for himself in his home town of Bayonne, NJ. Later, he also bought a house in Colonia. After becoming an established author, Lallo hopes to expand his career to new horizons by trying to write books in different genres. He has started writing a few books and is looking to develop a few more in the future.

One of the popular novel series written by Joseph Lallo is titled as Big Sigma. It consists of a total of 4 books, which were released between the years 2011 and 2015. Author Lallo has set the series in a distant future and has described Trevor Alexander as the main lead. Trevor is commonly referred to as Lex. He prepares himself to become the next race pilot, but when a race gets fixed he gets banned forever from participating. As a result, he gets reduced to make just freelance deliveries. Lex thinks that his life cannot get worse than this. At this point, a package set him up in a mix up of mobsters, a mad scientist, and a megacorp. Lex needs to learn what are their plans as his life seems dependent on it. He has quickly devise a plan to stop the trio from causing a great destruction and at the same time try to save his own life. One of the initial books published in the series is entitled ‘Unstable Prototypes’. It was released in 2012. At the start of the book, author Lallo has shown that Trevor Alexander’s life begins to shift towards normal after his previous adventure. He returns back to dividing his time between transporting passengers and delivering packages.

In between, he manages to take out some time to test experimental equipments. Lex even manages to stabilize his relationship with Michella Modane. She has become an overnight star after covering Lex’s pervious adventure. All of this proves that things are turning up quite well in the life of Lex, but he is aware that his luck never remains like this for very long. While preparing himself for a visit from his girlfriend, Lex comes to know that someone has kidnapped a reclusive inventor named Karter Dee. Karter was known to be a deranged and eccentric inventor and his checkered past seems to have caused the involvement of the authorities unwantedly. Karter’s AI reaches out to Trevor Alexander for help as he is among the few people who can be trusted with the life of Karter. Lex begins to form a team comprising of the former allies of Karter Dee so as to rescue Karter before his captors force him to use his latest invention to terrorize the populace.

Another mind blowing book written by author Lallo in the series was published under the title of ‘Artificial Evolution’. Released in 2014, this book carries forward the characters and story depicted in the initial part of the series. Apart from Lex and Michella Modane, the other new characters introduced by Lallo include Squee, Garotte, and Silo. They are also helped by the mad scientist, Karter Dee, and his artificial intelligence named Ma. At the plot’s beginning, Michella and Lex are shown as crossing paths with VectorCorp, a well known megacorporation, due to which they are about to face serious consequences. In a matter of few days, Lex is seen searching for a new job, while Michella feels the pressure from her network to go easy on the hard hitting stories. But, she does not seem to be the one who can be easily silenced. So, she decides to continue to investigate under a fluff story’s guise about an extra-terrestrial. Michella chooses Lex as her driver. In the meantime, the mercenaries, Silo and Garotte, are seen trying to nip at a terrorist group’s heels, which is called as Neo Luddites. When the pair hears rumors related to the attempt of securing a devastating weapon, they visit a forgotten planet located in one of the underdeveloped corners of the vast galaxy. The requirement of such circumstances is that the local authorities lay a claim for the apparent target of the terrorists. But, the question that still remains is that what threat could a gangly anatomical curiosities’ collection pose to the safety of the galaxy. In order to find the answer to this question, the heroes need to test themselves in the most difficult situation, which leaves the whole world relying on them.

   The Big Sigma series is one of the best sci-fi series written since Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series. It is an absolute MUST read!
