In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, author Lacey has given the description of how the treasure was buried near the seashore. The captain of the group of men takes the treasure that he discovers and takes it to the shore along with 6 men and a hymn. The men were sworn by the God to keep the knowledge of the treasure as a secret for as long as they could. The treasure that was buried in the ground mainly consisted of five chests which were all filled with gold. For a very long time, Tom Trelawney had been looking for some excitement in his life. He seems to be lucky to find one such chance when his eccentric uncle named Harvey asks him to join his team, which was travelling to South America on the mission of finding the hidden treasure. But, the life of Harvey is not too easy as he has a number of enemies who are on the dangerous trail of his team in order to gain the possession of the treasure. The enemies seemed to be too dangerous and would go to any extent, even killing someone if they had to, to obtain the hidden treasure. Now, it is to be seen whether who among them becomes successful in finding the hidden treasure first. They not only try to find the hidden gold, but also save himself and his team from their dangerous enemies on the mysterious island.

One of the other interesting and exciting standalone novel written by author Josh Lacey was published under the title ‘The Sultan’s Tigers’. It was released by the Andersen Press publishing house in the year 2012. The plot of this novel continues to deal with the hidden treasures and revolves around the happenings in the lives of the primary characters in trying to find the hidden treasure. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that a tiger is fully covered with fine treasures. His chest and jaw are all full of fine rubies, emeralds, and jewels. But, if anyone wants to take the possession of all the treasures on the body of the tiger, he is required to come in person and take the tiger along with the fine jewelry, emeralds, and rubies. The most important task is to find the tiger and for that the searchers need to travel to India and find the tiger as soon as possible before anyone else takes the benefit of the opportunity and takes away all the wealth and treasure. Meanwhile, the primary character named Tom Trelawney comes to know about a family secret which seems extremely incredible. When one of his ancestors was serving as a soldier in India, he stole and his a precious statue of a tiger, which was fully covered with precious jewels. Later, it is found that the tiger was one of the 8 identical statues of tigers that surrounded the powerful throne of one of the legendary sultans of the country. Now, a ruthless billionaire from India is attempting to collect all the 8 sets of precious tigers and seems pretty much determined to go to any extent to fulfill his desires. But, the Indian billionaire learns that one of the tigers is still missing. On learning about the evil intentions of the ruthless billionaire, Tom Trelawney sets out along with his uncle Harvey, to find and bring back the family treasure, before anyone else does. Tom very well knows that he is not the only one behind the treasure and seems pretty much cautious about the dangers that lay in his path.
