About Joshua Dalzelle

Known for his fast and furious writing style, the American writer Joshua Dalzelle is a highly regarded writer of contemporary science-fiction. Keeping the pace at a high, he really knows how to keep his readers coming back for more, whilst also ensuring satisfying conclusions to each and everyone of his long-running series and narrative arcs. This has lead to him becoming a bestselling author, reaching the top of numerous lists, including that of the USA Today bestselling list. Gaining large amounts of fans worldwide, he really does understand what it is that his readers are looking for when picking up each of his books. Not only that, but he’s also an expert at marketing his novels, constantly maintaining a strong presence both online and off, always giving his fans what they want.

Getting an audience globally, he has managed to gain momentum internationally, largely thanks to his strong universal appeal that really manages to draw people in. Using many of the more traditional tropes of the science-fiction and action genres, he has worked at carving out his own niche as well. This has lead the readers to find something different in his work, allowing it to stand out from the rest of the genre titles, proving a unique and idiosyncratic voice with something to say. Over the years this has lead to many of his readers following each of his releases with both eagerness and anticipation. Along with that, he’s expertly crafted characters who really stand on their own two feet two, something which will continue for some time to come.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up in America, Dalzelle would always show a keen fondness for the written word, particularly that of science-fiction. This would develop over the years, as he would completely immerse himself in the genre, all whist finding his own voice. Educating himself on the subject he would go on to learn all the tools of the trade, giving him much of what he needed to know to continue. Over time this would also mean him building much of the brand that he currently has today, finding his own unique voice and style. The characters were also something he would excel at too, as he would show archetypal heroes with both humanity and genuine warmth.

A fan of action and adventure too, Dalzelle would work at building worlds to envelope himself in, whilst also being outspoken on a number of different subject. This would subsequently lead to him creating exciting and tension fuelled narratives, filled with in-depth ideas and themes. Taking subject matter from the world around him, he’d use his many experiences to shape his work and ideas too. Giving him a whole wealth of material, he was able to craft something entirely different, that was both articulate and coherent too. Currently living in Cincinnati, Ohio, he continues to write to this very day, something which he’ll carry on doing for quite a long time yet.

Writing Career

It would be in the year of 2013 that he would make his debut onto the literary scene with the title ‘Omega Rising’. This would also go on to produce a series titled ‘Omega Force’ which would provide him with a long-running science-fiction collection of novels. Following the adventures of Jason Burke it sees him entering an interstellar world of aliens and conspiracies into the stars and beyond. Perhaps his bestselling series to date, it’s definitely the one that he’s best known for, with scores of fans following it worldwide. With plenty of room to continue growing indefinitely, it has the potential for carrying on for many volumes, with omnibus editions released as it surpasses ten titles and counting.

With two trilogies as well, Dalzelle has also released both the ‘Black Fleet Trilogy’ and the ‘Expansion Wars Trilogy’ as well. Both of these are firmly of the science-fiction genre, as they feature Dalzelle’s trademarked brand of action and adventure. Along with that he’d also release the stand-alone science-fiction novel ‘Blueshift’ in 2018, which would also become a USA Today bestseller as well. Appreciated by both the critics and the general public alike, he’s managed to garner an international audience from all across the world. Showing no signs of stopping anytime soon as well, he has a lot more set to come on the horizon, with plenty more titles planned.

Counterstrike

Set in the 25th Century, the series sees humanity in the throes of space exploration with faster than light travel. This means that the series itself takes place across the universe with a whole range of different aliens and species featured throughout. Originally published in 2015 on the 12th of October through the Kindle, it would mark the third title in the ‘Black Fleet Trilogy’.

Thinking the Phage War to be something that would always continue, Captain Jackson Wolfe never believed that it would end during his lifetime. This all changes though, when a new ally makes itself known and, finally he can see the end that he never thought possible in sight. It appears that there’s going be huge sacrifices made, as many lives are going to be lost in the assault that lies before them all. Will they manage to gain victory? Is the enemy that they face truly impenetrable as they initially thought? Can they make the counterstrike?

Blueshift

A stand-alone novel, this would initially be published in 2018 on the 18th of March, with Dalzelle already well into his writing career. First published through the Kindle platform as well, it would follow on in a similar vein to his previous books, with it being a science-fiction novel too. Using much of his now standard trademarked style and vision, it moves along at a brisk and fun pace, keeping the reader glued to their seat throughout.

All set to head into the stars, a group known as the Polaris Project are planning to head into the unknown and lay their eyes on a distant planet orbiting a star. The only problem though, is that they’ll be returning home after eight centuries, meaning everyone they know and cared about will be long gone. Arriving home they return to a nightmare, as they must uncover the mystery of what happened to Earth in their absence. Can they make sense of it all? Will Commander Markus Brentwood be able to hold his crew together through it all? What happened during the blueshift?
