Juan Gomez-Jurado is a journalist and author who has been very successful in his career in the media.

He went to college at CEU San Pablo de Valencia, where he graduated with a degree in Information Sciences.

Following his graduation from college, he worked at several TV stations including La Cadena COPE, Canal Plus, La voz de Galicia, and TVE, before he devoted his career to literary fiction.

As an author, he has been very successful in focusing on crime and narrative fiction. He published “God’s Spy” his debut novel and the first of the “Father Anthony Fowler” series of novels in 2006.
He has never looked like stopping since as he now has more than twenty works of fiction to his name. His novel “The Patient” has been optioned for cinema and is due to be made into a Hollywood film.
Juan Gomez-Jurado’s novels have been published in more than 42 countries and have been translated into more than 40 languages.

Juan has now become the symbol of success in Spanish letters especially in the digital format.

Gomez-Jurado was born in 1977 and as a journalist, he is best known for his work as a columnist with ABC and La Voz de Galicia in Spain, and the wide range of TV and radio programs in which he participated.
Alongside Carlos Ruiz Zafon and Javier Sierra, no author in Spain has been more successful. Over the years, he has been known for writing works that critics have described as cinematographic and energetic.
His novels are known for their frantic rhythm, which will hook you in from the first page to the last. In 2008, “The Traitor’s Emblem,” his novel was the winner of the Premio de Novela Ciudad de Torrevieja.
It was also a novel that received much critical acclaim from Kirkus Reviews, which called it a redeeming love story and riveting thriller.

Juan Gomez-Jurado has often said that his work as a journalist has greatly influenced how he writes his thriller fiction works. As a journalist, he has always been interested in the storytelling part of journalism.
However, when it comes to designing his plots his role as a father, husband, and sometimes as an adopted son has been very instrumental.

He believes these have had a bigger influence as friendship, love, and family have always been powerful triggers for his novels.

“Red Queen” is an exciting crime thriller work set in the European Union, which is dealing with rampant crime.

To deal with crime, the EU has come up with the “Red Queen Project,” designed to continually adapt to changing circumstances in battling the bad guys.

The project works with Antonia Scott, a civilian who has proved herself an expert at reading criminal minds and usually does not forget anything.

She is living in guilt over the fact that her husband is in a coma and for about three minutes every day, she has the quirk of contemplating suicide.

Another strange thing about her is that she can often do things that most people would deem impossible since her brain is not normal.

Law enforcement pairs Antonia up with Jon Gutierrez, a gay and overweight inspector whose career is up in the air after he was found guilty of getting a conviction for planting evidence.
While they could not be any more different, they soon develop and rapport, as they track down Ezekiel, a criminal who brutally killed a young man.

According to Antonia, their target has been kidnapping for power and he believes he is a good person with religious beliefs.

Still, he always leaves behind a lot of blood at his crime scenes, and throughout the story, there are all manner of grisly murders but also a nice balance of setting, action, and character.

Juan Gomez-Jurado’s novel “Black Wolf” is a work set in Madrid where Jon Gutierrez and Antonia Scott are critical cogs in the Red Queen project of the EU, intended to root out the very worst criminals.
At the opening of the novel, they retrieve a decomposing body from the Manzanares River, only to get distracted when Yuri Voroni the white slave trafficker is killed by the Russian mafia and Lola Moreno his pregnant wife is forced to flee.
From this point, the story is told from the viewpoint of Lola who grew up in a loveless and sad home where the future was black and the food tasted of ashes.

It was not until she got married to a member of the Russian mafia that she found happiness and wealth until he was murdered.

She is terrified when “The Beast” whose real name is Aslan Orlov needs to find and kill her and calls in an assassin named “Black Wolf” to do the job.

Gutierrez and Scott are also after her given that everything will fall into place if they find her. The good thing is that Scott is the smartest person on Earth, while Gutierrez is brave, strong, and smart too.
Similar to Red Queen, this is an intense novel full of dead bodies and blood galore that will have you on the edge of your seat anticipating what will come next.

“White King” by Juan Gomez-Jurado is the grand finale of the “Red Queen Trilogy.”

At the beginning of the story, Antonia Scott receives a message asking if she has forgotten the writer and if she is in the mood for playing.

While it is a cryptic message, she immediately knows who wrote it but also knows that it is impossible to win such a game. However, she hates losing but this time the stakes are even higher since if she loses this one battle she may just have lost everything.
As the hour of reckoning arrives, she throws herself soul and body into a face-to-face confrontation with Mr White, a mysterious man who has been her number-one foe for years.

They engage in a cruel merciless fight and a desperate race against time in which the stakes just keep on rising.

She knows that there is no more powerful piece on the chess board than the queen but even so, she needs a hand to move her and she is not in control of herself.
