Judith Lucci is an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author that loves to kill her characters. This is the polar opposite of what she dedicated her life to doing when she was a professor. She loves to come up with creative, wicked and odious ways to dispose of characters in her novels.
As an author, she has made a name for herself relying on research and medical background rather than guns to find out how best to kill someone. Given that she spent much of her life saving lives and caring for people, she is certain that a psychiatrist would have a great time studying why she is so fascinated in coming up with creative ways to kill.
Lucci published “Chaos,” the debut novel of the “Alexandra Destephano” series in 2014 and has never looked back since. She now has more than twenty five novels across more than five series.
Her novels are known for being riveting and fast paced reads that offer true suspense, memorable characters and believable drama.

Lucci was born in Richmond, Virginia and as a teenager he went to the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University for her doctoral and graduate degrees.
Once she graduated she went on to work for more than twenty five years as a clinical nurse. During this time she also worked at James Madison University as a college professor and researcher. Over the years, she wrote several academic articles, books and research papers that have been peer reviewed and appeared in medical journals.
Having been a prolific author of academic works, she initially found it difficult to switch over to fiction writing. But she has come far since then and now writes suspenseful stories as a person familiar with the world of doctors and hospitals.
Since she loves to have as much control over her work as she can, she self publishes all her novels through Createspace.
The bestselling author currently makes her home in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. When she is not writing her novels she can be found engaging in multimedia arts and silk painting.

As a researcher, clinician, and registered nurse, Judith Lucci’s career has had a huge impact on her career as an author. She has spent many years in healthcare organizations, hospitals, colleges and caring for patients and this would make its way into her novels.
Since Lucci knew a lot about medical stuff, she thought that she could write medical crime thrillers. Based on her work in research, education and practice as a nursing professional, she could easily come up with unusual and devious ways to kill people.
Once she has her lead character she pitts her against some nefarious criminal. This character could be a supernatural, a wayward physician, psychopath, killer nurse or hospital visitor.
Most of the ideas for her stories are derived from her research and experience on simple hospital errors, malpractice claims and medical mistakes. The rest is inspired by her devious and often warped mind which finds ways of writing unique plots and characters.

Judith Lucci’s “Chaos at Crescent City Medical Center” is the story of nurse Alexandra Lee Destephano. She is just coming from a painful divorce and finds starting over particularly hard.
She had worked hard to finally qualify as a registered nurse but still has the drive to try to become a lawyer. With her drive, getting a job with the Crescent City Medical Center had been easy. But now that her divorce had been finalized, working there would be difficult as she would have to see her ex everyday.
Her first date post dirvorce does not go as planned and she prefers to keep Mitch on the back burner for the time being. When he calls to take her out she is about to say yes when she is informed that Louisiana Governor’s wife had been discovered lifeless and covered in blood.
Who could have had the motive to attack the woman. It is soon apparent that there are too many secrets in the Big Easy. In a world of voodoo, the underworld and politics is Alex in over her head?

“The Impostor” by Judith Lucci continues to follow the life and times of in-house counsel for New Orleans Crescent Medical Center Alex Lee Destephano. She has not yet recovered from the tragic death of Mitch Landry, her boyfriend. She also thinks that she still has feelings for Dr. Robert Bonner, her ex husband.
To make matters even worse she is not getting along with a questionable and quirky contract administrator named Lester Whitset who is working in the psych ward. He has proven incompetent with her sstaffing choice and she believes he is inadequate in the role.
Meanwhile Jack Francoise the detective could not be busier as he is investiogationg the murder of two tourists that had been found in the French Quarter with their wrists slit and throats torn out.
When a psychiatric nurse named Angela Richeliu is the victim of a brutal attack in the building’s parking lot, Alex decides to go to work. She joins forces with CCMC’s Chief of Psychiatry Dr. Monique Desmonde to try to work out who could have been involved and what their motive could be.

Judith Lucci’s “Viral Intent” opens to the chief administrator of the Crescent Medical Center on leave leaving Alex and her ex in charge. At the opening of the novel, there is a crisis in the Emergency Department where there is a code blue. Soon after more patients arrive at the ER stretching the limits of the hospital.
They need to urgently contact the CDC to help identify a mysterious virus that has been causing quick deaths and has so far taken multiple victims. It looks like a bioterrorist attack that has been carried out by terrorist cells in New Orleans that could have infiltrated the NOPD.
It is also possible that the Tulane bioresearch center may have been infiltrated by a trusted graduate student. But what is puzzling is that even the members of the terrorist cell mistrust each other and are not sure who launched the attack on the Big Easy.
Meanwhile, all the law enforcement agencies are landing in New Orleans for a conference that will be attended by the President and 100 or more high ranking politicians.
In the meantime, a promising politician that had been a family friend to Alex’s family is killed in what looks like the work of a serial killer. The plot continues on with Alex and her colleagues failing to find a cure to the virus even as more patients are admitted with even more dying.
