The Writing Gals Discuss (With: Anne-Marie Meyer,Michelle Pennington) (2020)Description / Buy at Amazon

Judy Corry is bestselling author of contemporary and young adult romance novels. Her favorite genre has always been contemporary romance even though she reads a lot of young adult fantasy, young adult dystopian and regency romances as well.

Corry has said that she can never get enough of the emotion of falling in love. She has as such made a name for himself for writing hard won happily ever afters full of endearing characters and heart pounding kisses.

Together with her husband who was her high school sweetheart, she currently makes her home in Southern Utah. When she is not writing her novels she can be found making chocolate chip cookies, singing and playing the piano.

Corry never realized that she wanted to write until she was 26 and a mother taking care of three kids. During this time, she was reading a lot of books as she had been a rabid consumer of books for several years then. However, writing was a brand new thing for her.

The trigger was when she listened to another writer tell her story of getting into writing and becoming published. All she did when she first started was try to imitate what she loved in the books she loved to read. She used to take note on the use of dialogue tags and how things were worded and would try to replicate that.

Judy Corry had no idea that writing podcasts and conferences existed at this time, until she met an old friend that had become a writer. She invited her to a conference in town and also provided a list of podcasts to listen to.

She ended up immersing herself in everything after that and in less than a year, she was done with her first manuscript and querying agent and publisher. She got the customary rejections and decided to do some revisions before she embarked on the writing of her second work.
She published “Don’t Forget Me” in 2017 and has never looked back since.

After attaining much success with her novels, Judy Corry decided to become a podcaster running “The Writing Gals,” a popular Youtube channel on writing. The venture started in 2018 after she asked her critique friends if they would be interested in being part of a writing podcast.

They were all seeing a lot of writing success and similar goals and hence convincing them was no problem. The trigger was when Victorine Laskie, who was their best friend, was invited onto a Youtube Livestream alongside several other authors.

Having watched it, Judy Corry and Anne-Marie Meyer thought it would be cool to do something similar but focused on the sweet romance genre. After getting their logo and avatars on Fiverr, they got down to work and soon after had email, a website and a YouTube Channel ready to go.
They had no idea how big it would become and were surprised when two years later they had more than 60 videos and 12,000 subscribers.

Judy Corry’s novel “Meet Me There” is the story of Ashlyn Brooks, a sixteen year old. She believes she has met a charming and sweet Englishman in a dark Chemistry lab even though the man happens to be Luke Davenport, her biggest nemesis.

While she does not know it yet, this was just one of the football captain’s pranks that she had fallen for. She tells him secrets she has never divulged to anyone as she falls for the mysterious British guy with a sexy accent that understands her like no one else.

Luke had begun pranking Ashlyn as an escape following the death of his mother just before he graduated to senior year. But the more he meets and talks to her, the more he regrets his treachery. It is not long before he is walking the thin line of wishing he could tell her his real identity and keeping everything a secret.

“Don’t Forget Me” the second novel of the “Ridgewater High” series by Judy Corry is the story of Eliana and Jess who have lived next door to each other for years. They had developed a very strong bond as they grew up playing together.

But Jess is a womanizer too busy dating and breaking up with all manner of girls that he has never acknowledged his feelings for Eliana. Things change when she asks him to practice kissing with her and their lives will never be the same again.

Things are very rocky for Eliana back at home and this is made worse by the fact that Jess will be leaving for college in a matter of weeks. While he will not be very far, it is nothing like being next door to her.

She is in a huge conundrum as she knows that if they were to act on their feelings, their friendship could change forever. They finally decide to take the plunge for love and finally they get to know each other on a whole new level.

But there are challenges aplenty coming at them, and they will have to overcome self esteem issues, prejudice, their fears and pride to finally be together.

Judy Corry’s novel “It Was Always You” is the story of Lexi Stevens, a sixteen year old who has developed feelings for her brother’s best friend. She has never been kissed let alone been asked for a date. Things get very interesting when she humiliates herself in front of the guy that had been her crush for several months.

Trying to console her, her brother’s best friend offers to act as her boyfriend for a week to get her crush jealous. But this turns out to be either a dream come true or the stupidest idea they could ever have come up with.

When Noah Taylor’s abusive stepfather ejects him from his house, he is horrified that anyone would find out about it. But when his new girlfriend learns that he is homeless, she invites him to sleep in her closet. It is not long before he is wondering if she is the person he could finally confide in.

Soon Lexi and Noah are putting on quite the show in front of the whole school even as they have to sneak around given that her father can be overprotective. Soon enough, their feelings start to develop and what is real and what is fake starts becoming blurred.
