Early and Personal Life
Born in Toronto, Ontario, in Canada, the future novelist Judy Penz Sheluk was always interested in reading, writing, and the written word. Over time she would build upon this, nurturing it, and finding her own voice as an author and writer with something to say. Following this she would finally become a writer in her own right, transforming herself into the author readers now know her as today.
Working as a freelance writer for some time prior to becoming a full-time author, she’d build up her profile and brand. Producing work for a wide audience, her articles would appear in dozens of publications, along with many trade publications too. Currently living between Alliston and Goulais River, Ontario, she continues to write, living with her husband Mike, as she looks for her next big idea.

Her first novel, ‘The Hanged Man’s Noose,’ was published back in 2015, and it would mark the beginning of Judy Penz Sheluk’s literary career. It would also start the ‘Glass Dolphin Mystery’ series of books as well, as she’d follow it up in 2018 with ‘A Hole in One,’ which would be the next book in the series. She would also begin the ‘Marketville Mystery’ series in 2016 with the title ‘Skeleton’s in the Attic,’ which would start another series of hers, that would also be followed in 2018, this time with the novel ‘Past and Present.’
Over the years she would also produce a number of different anthologies and collections, both of hers and compiling the works of others. She’s a member of the ‘Sisters in Crime’ literary group, making her an active participant in the community surrounding her genre, both nationally and internationally. A Fool’s Journey
Originally published through the ‘Superior Shores Press’ publishing label, this would first come out in 2019 on the 21st of August to much acclaim. It would mark the third title in the ongoing ‘Marketville Mystery’ series of novels, carrying on with another self-contained novel. While the characters and the world is the same as before, the story concludes, paving the way for more to follow.
Working as a quality straightforward mystery novel, this is definitely an engaging and intriguing story on every level. While there are others in the series, it works on its own, with a self-contained narrative that uses the same characters, but its own mystery. The setting is well managed too, making it vital for not just fans of the author, but fans of the genre in general as well.
Back in March of 2000 at twenty years old, Brandon Colbeck would disappear on a ‘fool’s journey’ as he would proclaim it himself, and nobody has heard anything from him since. Now a man making a phone-call claiming to be Brandon has brought the case back into the spotlight, as Calamity ‘Callie’ Barnstable seeks to investigate further with her team. Callie, along with the rest of ‘Past and Present Investigations,’ will look back into the past in order to uncover a web of lies and deception. Where will their investigation take them? Can they uncover the truth behind it all? What happened on a fool’s journey?
Where There’s A Will
Originally released on the Kindle in 2020 on the 10th of November, this would be the third in the ‘Glass Dolphin Mystery’ series. While the character of Emily Garland returns once again as the protagonist, it’s story is a self-contained mystery, so can easily be picked up by itself. Making for a cozy mystery novel, it’s a fun and intriguing read, with plenty of surprising twists and turns along the way.
Looking to find her perfect home after marrying her partner, Emily Garland believes that she’s finally found the home for her. However, it also seems that Miles Pemberton, the reality TV star, wants it for his show ‘House Haunters,’ as it seems the the Hadley House is supposedly haunted. With more money than Garland, it seems that Pemberton will win the bid, despite racking up enemies in the local community. Then a will is discovered in a hidden area of the house, meaning that the property may be able to stay on the market after all. Does the will contain what Emily needs to secure her dream home? Will they find other secrets? What will happen where there’s a will?
