An American author currently living in Illinois, the writer Julie Cross has become a world renowned novelist over the course of her career. Focusing largely on the young adult genre, she has been able to craft a niche ultimately allowing her to find her demographic. This has lead to her being one of the foremost proponents within her specific field, with an ever increasing audience growing day-by-day.

Early and Personal Life

Born in 1980 on the 15th of March, Julie Cross the author to be was born and raised in Illinois in the United States. Ever since she was a young child she has had her eye set on becoming a full-time writer, with a clear passion for the written word. This has developed over the years, as she has harnessed her talents for writing, all the while honing and refining her skills as an author.

Educated in a whole range of different pursuits and practices prior to becoming a writer, she is a highly versatile and gifted author. She always held a strong passion for the written word close to her heart, though, as she’d continue to return to it time and time again. A gifted storyteller as well, she was able to craft a quality narrative, something which she constantly nurtured over time.

Spending time as a gymnast before becoming a writer, as well as teaching others and coaching, she still retains a love for it. Working with the YMCA, she was previously the Gymnastics Program Director, along with being a general fan of the craft. This is something that she continues to be interested in, watching and helping others to reach their full potential as gymnasts.

Still writing to this very day, she continues to write for a worldwide audience that’s growing everyday. Living with her three children and her husband, she is happily married and a full-time writer residing in Illinois. This is something that’s expected to continue on into the foreseeable future, as her writing career will carry on for some time yet.

Writing Career

Releasing her first novel in 2012, she made her debut onto the literary scene with the title ‘Tempest’, which was the first in the ongoing ‘Tempest Trilogy’. This is perhaps one of Julie Cross’s best known series to date, but only time will tell, as her other franchises are also increasing in popularity. Allowing readers immediately into her world, it’s definitely a must for any readers looking to learn more on the author.

This is not her only franchise, though, as she also has the ‘Letters to Nowhere’ series under her name as well. Consisting of four books in total so far, it’s also a popular series with it being set in the world of gymnastics, something which Cross holds close to her heart and it shows. With three other stand-alone books, she is increasing both in profile and in stature, with more and more discovering her work everyday.

Winning her fair share of awards as well, she is not without critical acclaim either, as she garners the attention of her peers and contemporaries alike. These include the ‘RITA Award for Best Contemporary Romance: Long’, which was awarded for her contribution to the romance genre. As well as this, she has also won a nomination in 2012 from ‘RT Book Reviews’ for her Young Adult fantasy and science-fiction novels.

A strong advocate for her craft, as well as that of gymnastics, she is very vocal about her trade and is always willing to impart her wisdom. Whether it be teaching or coaching, she provides others with what she has learned herself, something which has also allowed her to build her own profile. Keeping herself an active member of the community, she has not only built an national profile, but an international one as well.

Continuing to write living with her family in central Illinois, she has plenty of room to expand on her series and backlog of work. Not limiting herself to just any one genre either, she is fast becoming one of the most versatile authors within the industry to date. With a lot more planned on the horizon, there’s still a lot more to come yet, as her writing career grows from strength-to-strength.

Return to You

Making up the third part of her ongoing ‘Letters To Nowhere’, this continues on directly from the previous novel in much the same vein. Originally brought out in 2013 on the 10th of December, this was first released through the ‘Long Walk Press’ publishing label. Providing further backstory for the characters, it really develops their narratives, providing them with a real grounded sense throughout.

Working ever closer to that much coveted national title at the championships, Karen and Stevie are only a month away from the big one. Despite TJ, the resident bad boy, disrupting their morning workouts, they’re determined to make it work and get to the championships. That’s when a fall from the bars shakes Karen’s confidence as a gymnast, leaving her to question her performance and whether or not she really has what it takes to succeed. Will she be able to overcome this? Can Karen and Stevie ever get past their feud? What will happen as they return to you?

Timestorm

Brought out through the St. Martin’s Griffin publishing label, this was initially released in 2014 on the 28th of January. Marking the third title in the ongoing ‘Tempest’ series, this carries on directly from the last in much the same vein as before. That’s not that say that it doesn’t have some unique surprises along the way, as it keeps the reader guessing right until the very end.

Everything is set to come to a thrilling conclusion as the past, present and future all conspire to collide with one another. This leaves it up to Jackson, one of the few time travelers left, to help finish the rift between the Tempest division and Eyewall. Up against the elements, though, and with time running out, it appears that he may have a lot to deal with, especially when protecting those he cares about. Will he be able to save the day? How will he protect his family and loved ones? Can he prevent the Timestorm?
