About Julie Moffett

The American author Julie Moffett has had an international upbringing of sort, growing up in a number of different place from all across the world. This has lead to her writing some highly unique and interesting bestsellers, with fans and critics from all over singing her many praises. Largely focusing on the Young Adult demographic, she is mainly known for writing thrillers and mysteries, along with romance novels as well.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up with parents in the military, Julie Moffett would have a rich and varied upbringing, which would serve to inspire much of her writing career in the years to come. Travelling extensively throughout her life, she would attend high-school in Okinawa, Japan, including backpacking later through much of Europe. This would all go back into her work, as she would constantly be working on honing and refining her voice through the years.

Studying in Poland, Warsaw, she would attend and graduate from college there, as she was multilingual as well. Seeing Ireland and Scotland too, she would come to feature these countries a lot, especially in much of her earlier work, with many of her stories being set there. Still continuing to write to this day, she still puts out work at a regular and consistent pace, something she will carry on doing for a long time yet.

Writing Career

It was in 1994 that Julie Moffett would write her first novel titled ‘A Touch of Fire’, which was a stand-alone romance novel in the most classic sense. Here she would find herself as a writer, exploring her own voice within the format, something which she continued to do over the next four romance titles. Showing a clear talent for the form with something different to offer, she would later move on to write many of her own series and franchises too.

Her series would include the ‘MacInnes Legacy’, starting in 2002, the ‘Lexi Carmichael Mystery’ franchise, beginning in 2010, and the ‘White Knights’ series starting in 2017. These would all serve to provide her with an impressive backlog of work quite unlike any other, finding fans from all across the world. Winning various awards and nominations for many of her novels, she is at the peak of her career, and she doesn’t show signs of stopping any time soon either.

No Room for Error

First released through the Carina Press publishing label, this would originally come out in 2015 on the 7th of December. Following on from the previous novels, this continues in much the same vein as before, with it being the seventh title in the ongoing ‘Lexi Charmichael’ series of Young Adult adventure titles. This would later be followed up with the novel ‘No Strings Attached’, which would come out in 2016 less than just a few months after.

An exciting, fun and fast-paced thriller novel, this really transports its young readers, taking them on an action packed adventure. With the character of Lexi Charmichael already being firmly established, this manages to provide them with a sense of excitement quite unlike any other. Filled with tension and suspense, it also makes the most of its locations, bringing them to life in what is essentially an escapist fantasy. This isn’t to say that it isn’t grounded in reality though, as the characters are really fleshed out, developing and evolving them over the course of the story and series as a whole

Always in the midst of the action, Lexi Carmichael is a self-professed geek with a passion for technology, working for the highest security firms in order to ensure both peace and justice prevail. Her boyfriend, Slash, is a brilliant and extremely talented computer hacker in his own right, as well as being filled with secrets, along with being a national treasure. Faced with a seemingly simple mission now, Lexi is tasked with delivering a special microchip that’s revolutionary in its nature, as she must take it to an Indonesian manufacturing plant. This is easier said than done though, as it appears that others also want the chip, and they will do whatever it takes to get their hands on it, whatever the cost. Can she make sure it gets to the right people before it’s too late? Who is after her and the chip, and what, exactly, do they want with it? Is there really no room for error?

A Double Edged Blade

Originally published through the ‘Love Spell’ publishing outlet in 1996, as it would be part of a long running franchise called ‘Love Spell: Timeswept’. This series would have a number of different authors contributing to it, all bring their own distinctive personalities to the series. It would also provide an early showcase for Moffett’s talents as an author, marking her as one to definitely watch in the intervening years to follow.

A high-concept romance, this is a must for any fans of Julie Moffett, as it provides an insight into the early stages of her development as a writer. Using elements of science-fiction too, it really manages to create a tantalizing tale of chivalry and yearning, taking in a whole host of different locations. Moffett has also done her research on the time period, giving it a high degree of authenticity, whilst also making it extremely entertaining in the process. Part of a long-running franchise too, it was written in conjunction with many other authors writing their own titles, as she injects her own unique personality into the work.

Faith Worthington is a British agent tasked with exposing the most ruthless of IRA operatives, a mission which could prove to be extremely deadly. That’s when she takes a bullet to the thigh, one which inadvertently transports her all the way back to seventeenth-century Ireland, as she is a woman out of place and time. It is here that she meets none other than Miles O’Bruaidar, the handsome rebel leader, as she finds herself immediately falling into his arms. Initially believing her to be a spy though, Miles, nicknamed the Irish Lion, is soon taken in by her feminine charms, as he finds himself falling for her. Can she ever get back to her own time though? Will she really want to leave when the time comes? What will become of a double edged blade?
