Justine Davis aka Justine Dare is a renowned American writer of historical romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense stories. She has written numerous book series of romance in her career, including the Holts and Camerons series, Reeses series, Trinity Street West series, Target of opportunity series, Private Reasons series, Hawk series, W.O.L.F. Pack series, Redstone Incorporated series, Coalition Rebellion series, Texas Justice series, and several others. Justine has also written many standalone novels, novellas, and short story collections. She has collaborated with numerous other authors with regard to the latter, including Marilyn Campbell, Jackie Merritt, Joan Elliott Picart, Anne Marie Winston, Clay More, Annette Broadrick, Linda Turner, Suzanne Brockmann, etc.

Justine was born as Janice Davis Smith in Iowa and brought up in California. Her mother had delivered her in the middle of a storm. Justine started her first job as a full-timer in law enforcement when she was fresh out of school and continued doing it for a period of 21 years. She has been married to the love of her life for more than 2 decades. Author Justine says that readers seem to be equally fascinated by her first career as they are with her writing. The time she spent in the field of law enforcement was nerve-wracking, irritating, and exciting. She never felt bored.

Even though she was interested in writing, Justine never really attempted to write anything seriously for many years because her law enforcement job’s fascination kept her busy all the time. She used to keep a journal with her in which she used to write long letters, rewrite movies in her own imagination, collect quotes, etc. But, the idea of writing something for publication never really struck her mind as she was having too much fun in helping the authorities catch the bad guys. And when the time finally came, Justine realized that her journal was full of amazing stories revolving around some great people who worked hard to keep others safe. Being one among them makes Justine proud of herself. She is also proud to have found two interesting jobs knowing that many people are not lucky to find even one.

When Justine finally made up her mind to make a living by telling stories, she promised herself that she is going to stay and keep writing for as long as the readers want her to. One thing that often happens in Justine’s stories is that female characters always win. The first time Justine sold a novel was in the year 1989. She followed it up with selling 19 novels in a span of less than 2 years. The first four novels of her career were all released in 1991 and each one of them reached the finals of either the RT Reviewer’s Choice Award or the RWA RITA award. Justine went on to win the RITA award 4 times, along with 3 Career Achievement awards and a few Reviewer’s Choices from Romantic Times.

At a national conference in 1998, the RWA inducted Justine into its Hall of Fame. By achieving this feat, she became one of just 8 writers to do so. Four of her titles have appeared on the All-Time Top 200 of Romantic Times. Justine’s bibliography now consists of over 50 books, many of which have appeared on various bestseller lists on a regular basis, including the NY Times and USA Today. Author Justine’s success as an author has enabled her to feature in many local and national newspapers. She has even conducted workshops for numerous RWA chapters and has spoken at many international and regional conferences. Justine has also given lectures at the Writer’s Program of UCLA. During her free time, she likes to indulge herself in reading and knitting. Sometimes, she likes to take up wildlife photography. During summers, Justine is usually seen taking road trips in her restored Corvette Roadster with her loving dog as her companion.

An exciting series written by author Justine Davis is known as the Whiskey River series. It began in 2017 and features the primary characters in the roles of Joe Kilcoyne, Kelsey Blaine, Truett Mahan, Hope Larson, Zee Mahan, and Jamie Templeton. Each book’s story takes place in Whiskey River. The first book of this romance series is entitled ‘Whiskey River Rescue’. It was released by the Tule Publishing in 2017. This novel opens by introducing Kelsey Blaine as a horse rescuer. She becomes upset when the land on which she used to live along with her horses gets sold off unexpectedly. When she reaches home and finds that her possessions are boxed up and the authorities are about to bulldoze her house without giving her any prior notice, Kelsey becomes frantic. She normally stays calm and composed. But, these sudden turn of events makes her so furious that she trespasses the fence of the culprit to confront. He is none other than her mysterious neighbor named Joe Kilcoyne.

Joe is a man full of secrets. He keeps his secrets well guarded and hidden from others. Even though he is considered a hot topic by many in Whiskey River, no one has tried to get near him ever. When Kelsey barges into her fence and confronts, she becomes the first woman to ever get so close to the charming Joe. Now, the last thing he needs is the breach of his defenses by Kelsey and interaction with his past life. However, they become attracted to each other as sparks begin to ignite between them. This weird feeling shocks both of them, but they choose to cherish it instead of wondering how it happened.

The second installment of this successful series is known as ‘Whiskey River Runaway’. It was also published in 2017 by Tule Publishing. The lead characters of this book include Hope Larson and Truett Mahan. Initially, Truett Mahan is shown as a widower. When he comes across a trespasser hiding inside one of his renovation projects, he takes it as a runaway teen looking for shelter. But, when he lays his eyes on Hope Larson, Truett learns that she is a full-grown woman and desperately needs help. As Truett has the habit of never turning away a person in need of help, he decides to let Hope stay with him. But, he also worries about the feelings and dreams that she wakes up in him that he thought were buried with his deceased wife many years ago. Hope Larson had run away from her home to protect and find help for the people she loves. After hearing her story, Truett advises her to give up the idea of running and settle down in the town that she has started to love. Hope wonders if the honorable and strong man can help her in giving a new beginning to her life or it is just another dream that is not going to turn into reality.
