K. Alex Walker is a national bestselling and award-winning author of contemporary multicultural romance that is best known for the “Angels and Assassins” series of novels.

She is originally from the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean but has been living in Tampa, Florida for several years now. She has made a name for herself penning contemporary romances featuring black women leads.
Growing up, she was never ashamed of being black and in fact, she never wanted to be mainstream. The one time she was ashamed of being black was when she was told she was not black enough.

She soon developed an inferiority complex and even trolled her college roommate as she was jealous that she was the black that she would never be. Alex Walker used to create some nasty personas so that her friends would dislike her, which would block them from seeing how unlike them she was.

Having been born and brought up in the Caribbean and found herself living in the United States, she just never could identify with the concept of being African American.

Lonely and confused, she suffered from attention deficit, PTSD, anxiety, and depression and at some point, felt as if her entire life was wasted. Still, there were moments of calm when she scooted away and listened to her calypso, zouk, soca, and even Elton John.

Things changed for K. Alex Walker when she found “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl” by Issa Rae. With time, she matured and realized that most people even those she believed had it all together were still trying to figure out their black identity.

She began looking inward at some of the things she loved most, one of which was the consumption of media about black women such as “Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters.”She found her voice and realized that even though she might sound very different, what she had to say was still relevant.

She challenged what it meant to be a good black girl in society and came to accept that being a black woman is beautiful and nuanced and it will never be a solid line. As a woman with Caribbean roots, she acknowledged that the only identity which she needed to pay attention to was the one she held for herself.

It was this acknowledgment that droved her decision to begin to look for black voices in fiction. The fiction she wanted to read was not the usual slave narratives that most of the time is directed by white people looking to celebrate the depiction of the white savior or appease their white guilt.

She went on the search for black woman/girl scientists, superheroes, and explorers whose stories were not only about how exceptional they were at being minorities but how good they were just as people.

K. Alex as an author was born from that search as she reevaluated the black narrative. She wanted to provide a place where black girls can see themselves in works of fiction that emphasize their compassion, their intelligence, their wit, their academia, and their quirk.

Her works are all about black girls being just beautiful; not pretty for a dark-skinned girl. She wants black girls to get the universal love they deserve instead of being told they are masculine, ugly and on the bottom rung of the social ladder.

K. Alex Walker believes that in the past decade in which black people have had to deal with police brutality, racial injustice, the degradation of black bodies and the realization of the police state means that black people need a voice more than ever before.

Alex believes there is a demand for contemporary love stories for people that may not necessarily be black but who have similar stories, voices, and a desire to be celebrated and humanized in romantic literature.

“Angels & Assassins” by K. Alex Walker is a work about Tayler, a doctor who comes across a man almost dying while he is heading home at night.

When she graduated from medical school, she had sworn to protect human life and knows it is her duty to save his life. But then the man makes a statement that he wants to die and this makes her even more determined to save him.
Gage is dealing with some dark demons that have made him not care for anyone or anything and he does not even want to live. She had found him in one of his darkest moments and for some reason, he feels so protective instinct toward her since she is so willing to save his life even when he has told her he wants to die.

What he never expected was that he would be called upon to protect Tayler’s life. He had only been staying in town long to help her renovate a house that a relative recently left to her. Somehow she finds herself trusting him to save her life while he finds himself needing to save her just as she had saved him.

K. Alex Walker’s “The Protector” is the story of Dez, a former Navy SEAL who grew up on the streets of Washington DC. He had vowed to never go back to the streets of his hometown when he joined the military until one of his comrades forces him to.

But on the night he was to head to DC, he bumps into a federal prosecutor named Larke Tapley who is at a crossroads. She is unsure about leaving her job and establishing her own business.

The two are soon fast friends and remain so while he goes on private missions across the globe while she becomes a force to reckon with in the legal world.

He comes to miss her so much that he returns to DC which is something he had vowed never to do. Immediately he arrives, there is a break-in at her office and the man says that he had been sent to take out Tapley.
Dez takes her under his protection and together they go out intending to dismantle what has to be one of the most dangerous criminal organizations the world has ever seen.

“The Anarchist” by K. Alex Walker is the story of Julien Hunter. He had been attending college when he was recruited by an anarchist group as an elite asset.

Initially, He thought it would all be about simple occasional challenges and a lot of money to stroke his massive rebellious ego. He was also certain that he would get to have an occasional beautiful woman in his bed whenever he went on his missions.

But then he met Aari Johnson and he is not so sure of anything anymore. They have an incredible evening together and even though he knows he needs to leave if he is not to compromise his mission he just cannot get her out of his head.
A year later they meet up again but Julien is now a hardened man who spent several months training in a covert counter-terrorism unit. He wants to make Ari his forever but his life is dangerous and the enemies he made want to kill him and everyone dear to him.

Things get very interesting when he gets a call that might upend all their lives.
