A writer of romance fiction in the contemporary sense, Karen Templeton primarily writes to entertain, but also manages to subvert the genre with her own unique style as well. Creating protagonists that resonate well with her audiences has become somewhat of her forte now. This is something that has not gone unnoticed with her critics as she’s gained praise worldwide, with more and more flocking to her work every day.

Early and Personal Life

A mother of five young children, Karen Templeton is an American author who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she spends most of her time both reading and writing. With a lifelong passion for literature, she always had a keen interest in the written word, but was never sure about taking the next step until she finally took the leap and sent some material to a publisher. Using her previous experience from throughout her life, she was able to draw upon a wealth of inspiration to help assist her when creating her novels, something sh does to this very day.

Having grown up in the area there’s no end to the mine of material that she’s able to draw from, using her unique and layered style to create something all of her very own. Her family have also been able to provide a strong source of inspiration as well, providing her with an even deeper insight, as she brings to life characters that resonate with her audience. Getting her books translated into over a dozen languages, it’s clear that she’s come a long way since her initial release in 1998 and it appears she’s going to be around for some time yet.

Writing Career

It was 1998 when Karen Templeton had her first book published, after which over forty books have come from her, many of which went through the Silhouette publishing house. Writing in a more sobered style than that of her peers and contemporaries, she utilizes a more down-to-earth tone, inflecting it with a sense of realism that resonates well with her many readers. This has managed to work well for her over the years since she published her first book, right up until today as she has a number of different franchises running simultaneously.

Gaining awards and recognition from a number of different literary circle she has worked to gain the success of her many peer within the field of romance. Focusing more on the gentle aspects of love, she takes a fine eye to the more minute aspects of seemingly everyday interactions and draws them out to find the meaning within. This is why she has managed to gain success on a global scale, as she’s appreciated both nationally and internationally from readers of all varieties worldwide.

Subverting the many tropes and cliches of the contemporary romance novel, Karen Templeton seeks to sidestep all the pitfalls of the genre, finding something new within. This is why so many flock towards her work, gaining her more and more readers everyday, as her audience builds and builds regularly with each book release. Showing no signs of stopping writing anytime soon, she has plenty more titles planned on the horizon from now on into the foreseeable future.

Anything For Her Marriage

Originally published in 2000 on the first of May, this was an early entry for Karen Templeton, as she was still establishing herself and her style upon the literary scene. Creating character types that were to become firm staples in the years to come, she can her be seen honing her voice and finely refining her craft. Many of the themes throughout are also familiar through the rest of her novels as well, building a sense of ambiance and atmosphere for what was to follow.

In it Nancy Shapiro is a kind, sweet and somewhat shy and reserved woman who keeps herself to herself, all whilst secretly harboring a strong crush. The object of her desires is one Rod Braden, a wealthy single father who also maintains a strong and silent presence, as he manages to look after himself and his child. Soon though they both come together after she offers him coffee and they end up having another child, and he is then ready and willing to offer her everything. Will she remain with him and do whatever it takes for them both to become an item? Can he ever truly be happy with this woman and do what is right for both him and his children? Can they both find out what it takes as she will do anything for her marriage?

Welcome Home, Cowboy

Part four of her Wed In The West series of novels focusing on a more western oriented romance theme if only in name, this was first published in 2010 on the first of July to an already eager audience. Further building on the style and the tone that had been delivered before, this worked to expand upon the series with new characters and a tinge of the western genre. Set in the modern day, its loosely connected with the other books in the series taking the ideas and the concepts and weaving an entirely new story from them for a new book.

Emma Manning is a widow who’s just become recently pregnant and is in a desperate bind as she struggles to look after her children and her now somewhat dilapidated ranch. Cash Cochran could be just that man as he is looking to maybe settle down after his long career as a now burnt out and tired musician hoping to find a place called home. Neither of them expected to fall for each other, but it appears they are despite themselves and all their differences, as it appears they might be more in need of each other than they realize. Will they come together and can Cash put his past behind him and move on with her and her family? Can Emma ever get over her previous husband and move on with Cash finding happiness together? What will become of them both as the each decide to say welcome home, cowboy?

My husband just finished the last book in the Jersey Boys series. My husband is curious if there would be a book about the youngest sister Abby. He is enjoying reading all of your books and I get to read them after he has finished. I know the series is the Jersey Boys but the sister is part of the family.
